Tugende

This was the best experience I have ever had at a hostel. The staff at Tugende are phenomenal! They go above and beyond to help the guests. The breakfast which is included in the stay is so tasty. The facilities are good and there’s an option to have your clothes cleaned for a small fee which was great. This hostel is in a good neighborhood and the cafe here is really nice. It’s usually busy during the day so it provides opportunity to meet people if you wish. I highly recommend Tugende!

Great hostel in the heart of Kigali! Quiet & peaceful atmosphere with a cafe out back with delicious food! Very comfortable private rooms. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed my stay at Tugende in Kigali. The hostel was in an ideal location near convention center and transportation hub. The staff was very helpful and friendly. A special shout out to the staff preparing breakfast and at the bar.

I highly recommend Tugende in Kigali. It is well located, and in a good and safe area. Breakfast is really good, and the lunch/dinner area is beautiful and really comfortable. I did not try the bicycles but you can rent them. the room was good, although the shower was a bit old and hot water is only running after waiting for a while. If you are in Kigali, it is a great place to stay.

I returned because my friend really wanted to. However, the price doesn’t reflect the local reality. The owners charge the same rates as hostels back home, where salaries and taxes are 10 times higher. Someone responded to my last feedback “We always have a sheet between the duvet and the bottom sheet” but I came back to find nothing had changed.The sink still isn’t working and the bath is clogged. Excellent location with private security. This hotel/hostel is the best one in Kigali! The staff are extremely warm and welcoming. The rooms and beds are super comfortable and big. The location is exceptional, right in front of the convention center. The cafe has an excellent variety of espresso styles coffee drinks, beer, smoothies, and cocktails! The food was phenomenal and was made by classically trained chefs. I can't wait to go back to Tugende!

We booked the double private room, it is simple but has all you need, room itself nice and comfortable, however the bathroom could use some work. Location is great, close to airport (short moto/taxi ride) and lots of restaurants and cafes. The cafe attached is really nice, good food and coffee.

Great stay at Tugende! Clean, well located and the staff are very friendly, accompanied and helpful. I look forward to coming back!

Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, we had an issue with one of our bicycles but the super friendly guy who runs the attached bicycle place found a out of the box solution and fixed it.

Great place to stay in Kigali. Next to the convention center and Lemigo Hotel, which is especially helpful in a city where directions rely entirely on landmarks. Great staff, great setting, and a great cafe with excellent breakfast. Plus as a cyclist I was able to immediately tap into the cycling community and find out about group rides. Downsides: very noisy when daytime staff arrive in the morning around 6am (I'm a deep sleeper and was woken up every morning). Would stay there again.

Perfect location and amazing staff to make you feel at home. The whole place got a cycling theme, and there is even a workshop. Food is probably the best I had in Kigali.
