Very basic accommodation, but this is a youth hostel and relatively cheap. Beautiful location, clean, friendly, helpful staff and quiet (in February). After a day walking the coast path in the cold & wet, absolutely loved it.
I really enjoyed my stay at Droskyn Lookout. The views there are absolutely amazing and it's a very beautiful area, just a short walk from the town centre and bus links. It was very quiet when I visited, assuming this was down to the time of year. The facilities aren't the most luxurious but it's very good value for money so that didn't bother me. Would stay again!
The location of the hostel is stunning. It's recently been taken on by the new owners and is in the process of being refurbished so i'm sure that the 4 stars that I gave will soon become 5 because we saw a lot of progress made between when we found the hostel whilst walking along the coastline and staying there a month later e.g. the installation of the hot tub and sauna. The kitchen could do with a refurb but i'm.sure thst will.come next. The rooms are comfortable, well fitted and secure.
Absolutely stunning situation, very relaxing, all facilities that you need, lovely staff and absolutely amazing spa facility available to book (absolutely worth it). Body and mind reset , fantastic. I will be back! 😎
After getting away for few nights with my mum and son prior to my dads funeral we was immediately disappointed on arrival purely due to the cleanliness of our room and other areas. Also was told you get 10% off food/drinks but this only happened once. Very noisy early morning but pre warned notice on wall. No hot water. Not what we needed but been through worse. But very friendly staff and the view is beyond perfect. 190-200pn is Over priced for what it is you are literally paying for the view.
When we stayed (August 2025) The Lookout was only just a few weeks into transforming from a YHA hostel into something a bit more contemporary, so it has a few rough edges, but it's a great value place to stay for a few nights and Abbie and her team were sensational. The excellent coffee and pizzas are a real bonus, but that cliff-top view of the whole of Perranporth, is absolutely unbeatable. We'll be back.
