Best hostel I've ever stayed in! So much fun and the staff is so amazing. The food, surf lessons, and atmosphere made it a great weekend trip
Everyone is so open and friendly, really great place to meet people. Would definitely recommend it , top place .
Finding this place was pure luck, the staff are absolutely amazing and super kind down to earth people. The location is gorgeous with a view looking over the valley and the ocean. Going down to the beach is extremely fun and you really find a great group of people. The family style meal each night is delicious and it’s awesome to socialize. If I could extend my stay another week I would!
Wonderful hostel. Feels like family. Magic setting and so much in the surrounding areas to explore. I hope to be back one day. LOVE !
The atmosphere of this hostel is amazing. The whole team is incredibly nice, every day there are fun activities planned and the food is great. I enjoyed every single day I spent at this hostel (and in fact extended my stay twice) and would highly recommend you go there, if you are looking for a social atmosphere, yoga, surf or fun.
A lot of the surfing equipment is broken or well used. The house itself is very run down and looks like it hasn’t had a deep clean in years. Beds and pillows need replacing. If you can look past the poor conditions of the facilities, the food was great, staff provide a good vibe, always social things happening. Out in nature is nice but unsure how you’d feed yourself unless you paid for the all inclusive package. Still had to pay for towels, transport to San Sebastián etc as well.
I came with no expectations and the place offered way more than any hostel I have ever been. People were amazing, great surfing session and after surf event as well. Really appreciate the warmth and hospitality of this place. Thank you.
THE BEST HOSTEL I HAVE BEEN TO. From the minute I got there the vibes, the music, the people, the place were all 10/10. The staff are also excellent and so friendly and getting involved - Marios helped me with my surfing techniques, Laura was so helpful when I extended my stay 3 times and as I left I forgot my passport and Anna turned around straight away and still got me to my train on time! The food is also delicious and plentiful. Honourable mention to Chayanne the best hype girl out there.
super schönes hostel , gutes essen und alle mitarbeiter sehr sehr nett. Perfekt um Leute kennenzulernen, zu surfen und party zu machen. Sehr empfehlenswert wir würden jederzeit wieder hinfahren
We had a lot of fun staying at Stoke Hostel, however, the title of the place is pretty misleading. Instead of being in San Sebastián like we thought, it was actually a 45 minute drive from downtown, and the beach they access is in Zarautz. Otherwise the staff and environment was fun and welcoming, just not what I had expected based on the title and description.
I was a bit hesitant to book this hostel because of some of the reviews, but I ended up having the best time ever! While it’s true that the place isn’t spotless or in perfect condition, the atmosphere completely makes up for it. The vibe is incredible, the people are super friendly, and it’s just such a fun and welcoming place to be. Definitely coming back one day!
Don’t believe the good reviews bc you are given a free shot for leaving one! Found blood stains on my sheets and spots of blood in the bathroom. My friend woke up with a baby cockroach under her pillow. For 30€ a night and a 9 star rating I expected WAY more. The pictures shown are very inaccurate. Everything felt dirty and wet. Felt disgusting sleeping there and the whole next day until I could scrub myself clean. If you’re into staying at a frat house, this is the place!
Super friendly staff and great vibe overall! A little bit untidy but everything important was cleaned daily (washrooms, kitchen). Location is distant from any shops but all you need is provided by the hostel. Awesome place
Great if you upgrade for 35€!!!
I cannot express how much I absolutely love this hostel. My week here was basically a week-long party, filled with meeting people from all over the world. Surfing and yoga were a good balance to all of the excitement. The staff is very friendly and professional and while chaotic, everything is well organized!
This is not a reflection on the activities or surfing. The hostel workers were perfectly kind, and the beach is lovely. The hostel itself was disgusting and poorly kept! I was told that the bathrooms and bedrooms are cleaned 2x a day, however there was still mold growing in the showers and underneath the mattresses. The sinks were always clogged, and there were partiers up til all hours so many surfaces were left sticky in the morning. Myself and another traveler left after only one night.
The staff is really nice and we liked the atmosphere and the people there. Also the food cooked there was amazing and they even brought it to the beach. However you need to take a bus every day and carry the boards for a while. The house itself was not in a good condition and needs lots of renovation. Some of the toilet seat were lose, everything was kind of wet in the house and the rooms were not cleaned properly between guests.
This place blew my expectations out of the water. The location, staff, food and overall vibe was outstanding. Typically i’m not one to write reviews, but I simply couldn’t as I had the best time. Highly reccomend!
If you want to spend time in San Sebastián, don’t stay here. The hostel is not in San Seb, it’s about 30 mins outside and they only do 1 night out there a week. It’s very remote, so you’re unable to go off on your own without a car. Also, there’s not enough food, so if you get meals there- if you’re last in line you won’t eat. Surfing, yoga, and staff were great- but a “San Sebastiàn Surf Camp” is very misleading.
