Don’t make the mistake I did. What ever you’re thinking about booking, add more nights. Staff is excellent, felt more like friends who got a cabin together than a hostel. Location is great. Will be back to ski, no doubt.
10/10 amazing stay. Great staff and great people staying at the hostel. Super social and always something going on. Would 100% stay again
Freeride Lodge has everything any other hostel will offer but what sets them apart from other places are the people, especially the staff. So welcoming, so accommodating, and just genuinely good humans. Vibes were unmatched all week. Easily one of the top highlights of our Japan trip. Despite the average snow, there were so many core memories unlocked. We’ll be back. Don’t forget us 🫶❄️🏂
Very good vibes, super social
10/10 the best lodge in Niseko
Great place to meet like minded skiers and snowboarders. the beds were comfy and the common areas are well kept. The staff were great. I'd certainly stay here if I went back. Niseko Village Gondola is about 1.5kms away. So if you don't have a car, you could possibly walk it. No idea how good/frequent the shuttle service is
Best hostel of our two months in Japan !! We made friends and had a ball both on and off the hill. All the staff ensure that the hostel is clean, with a safe and welcoming environment. If you get invited to one of their social nights, pleaseeee go, soo much funnn. The hostel is just a short walk from a lift, and has a bus stop just outside, which makes its super convenient to get around
Awesome hostel with a great location and (almost) ski in ski out. Staff are super helpful and responsive. Hattie is a vibe. Will return for sure
Great place to stay close to the slopes. The end of the year party was great and the vibes were high. Highly recommend!
In a great location and only about a 5-10 minute walk to the closest ski lift.
The stay was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very close to the mountain but not much of food so bring your own to cook in the kitchen for ease. Would stay again.
Great lodge to go skiing! 5~10min walk to the closest gondola. It's a bit far from Gran Hirafu which has its pros and cons. Room and staff was great.
Jacob is the best staff member there is. Checking people in with a microphone, felt like I was on a tour through the mountains of Beijing. Legend
Cool ski hostel with relaxed and friendly staff. Clean and good facilities including kitchen and drying room. Location walkable to chairlift from which you can access the whole mountain. There are limited restaurants/bars around and buses currently stop running just after 8pm so going out at night is difficult. Had a fun time here overall
Great staff and great guests everyone was very welcoming and the staff did a great job keeping things clean and stocked. The bus stop location is just outside the hostel and the lifts are a bus ride or 5 minute walk away. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to my friends.
Bunch of legends had heaps of fun here
not very clean staff likely drunk atmosphere loud and rowdy
I came to free ride lodge Niseko for the first time this January. 12/10 staff!!! Would recommend to anyone travelling to japan!
Great Spot. The staff will definitely take care of you! Great people and a fun envirnoment. Upper bed should have their own outlets, however.
Highly recommended for the solo travel boarders
