Not ideaI for solo woman. Stayed at city fort as my flight into colombo arrived late. The staff were welcoming and made me feel comfortable. But i didnt feel safe here as a woman alone, due to the shared bathroom with men and the smoking door being in the bathroom which meant men were hanging out in the bathroom at night and this made me feel very unsafe to take a shower after a long flight. They have locks on the shower but i still felt uncomfortable so as a woman I wouldnt stay here again.

Nie wiem jak to możliwe, że hostel ma tak wysokie obecny. Jest w nim bardzo brudno, miałam ogromnego grzyba na ścianie, bałam się czegokolwiek dotkną. Nawet nie było gąbki do zmywania naczyń w kuchni więc jak tu dbać o porządek. Chciałam uciekać jak przyjechałam ale musiałabym zapłacić całą kwotę za odwołanie pobytu. Przemęczyłam się jedną noc bo byłam tam późno ale to było bardzo nieprzyjemne.

We only stopped late at night until early morning but the reception was professional, the room was clean and well set and the Airton was great. We were greeted with a water, shown our room then checked in and out smoothly and quickly. Perfect stay, nothing I could criticise!

Open door to get in and out with dorms unlocked so very easy for someone to come in on from the street. Good location but the recaption was being manned by the cleaner for the 2 days I was there, he had no advice on what to do, where to go or tours to book. Bathroom wasn’t too clean with a couple facilities out of order

If you want to spend a night it’s ok, good location. But don’t expect much.

Property was fine for a 1 night stay, as it is 10 minutes walk to the train station. Doors have no locks on them, so anyone can come in, but lockers are provided.

Stayed for a night for an early train ride. +10-15minute walk to City Fort train station. Hot shower. They seem to have overbooked so I got upgraded to a family room with shared restrooms. -Room not very soundproof so you could hear noises from the corridor and the closing of doors of other rooms

Very great place and also really nice price. Not too social vibe but place is just lovely. I reccommend

Hostel was being renovated, it should not be open until it’s completed. The floor we were on had card board speckled with paint everywhere and wet walls, bathroom really stunk. Room door didn’t lock and staff would just walk in without knocking. If I was a lone female I really would not have felt safe there.

Ich würde dieses Hostel leider nicht empfehlen. Also wäre ich alleine als Frau gereist, wäre ich trotz Bezahlung umgedreht und raus. Unser Stockwerk wurde gerade renoviert, die Malerutensilien standen noch rum, es hat nach der giftigen Farbe gerochen. Im Zimmer hat es dann eher nach dem Schimmel an der Wand gerochen. Es gab nur eine Wolldecke mit der ich mich auch nicht zu decken wollte und die Kissenhülle war komisch verfärbt.. das einzig gute war die Lage.

Horrible hostel! Do not go here, it’s very unsafe and I was sexually harassed by another person staying at the hostel. The hostel staff didn’t call the police because apparently it was too late. It was my first night staying in Colombo and in the morning I realised the police station was 1 min walk away. I have reported this hostel to the police and they are aware of them. There wasn’t enough members of staff or enough CCTV footage either which let the man who sexually harassed me walk...

Pasamos una única noche, el hostal estaba aún en construcción y solo tenia unas pocas habitaciones habilitadas. No obstante, nos dieron habitaciones privadas con aire acondicionado que estaban muy limpias. Además dispone de un ámplio espacio como zona común con sofas, mesas, sillas, nevera, microndas y utensilios de cocina. La ubicación nos vino fenomenal ya que está muy cerca de la estación.

Not the cleanest hostel but i believe they were renovating while i was there. Not many travellers either resulting in no atmosphere - this was perfect for me though as i arrived late and needed a good nights rest. Location is central and ideal, though a bit shady. The staff are lovely :).

Felt super unsafe in the surrounding area in the night time (weird men everywhere). The staff were nice and helpful, but there was no water to purchase and there was of security with doors kept open. You also had to go up two sets of dingy stairs to get to the top floor. They do have air conditioning and the location is good, but not a very nice place to stay. Only stay if you’re on a tight budget like me 🤠.

Good place for a sleep, not really any social atmosphere. Dorm was spacious and bathrooms were clean. Very close to a train station!

No keys for the doors so just kept open, had lockers in room but still not great. Just about fine for a one night stopover.

Only spent one night here before getting the morning bus to Sigiriya. It's very central and there are some great bars and cafes nearby. Not much of an atmosphere in the hostel though. But very close to bus and train station. I hope to spend my last 2 nights in Colombo before I fly home at the end of this trip as I'm exploring some of the top tourist attractions in Sri Lanka.
