Hitchhike Backpackers

I had an amazing time staying at Hitchhike backpackers. The owner was incredibly nice and helped me feel comfortable. If you’re staying in Colombo, I highly recommend staying here!

Great stay for after a flight in Colombo. The place is really big so we had pretty much a whole floor to ourselves. If your looking for somewhere to sleep in Colombo this is the place. Only downside is gate gets locked after 11pm so you just have to make sure to get back before then

This place was really good it isn’t in the heart of the city but is close to the beach if you want to relax. It was nice and clean and the hosts were lovely, only real downside for me was there was a lack of other people although it is still the low season. This place seems set up to be quite social if there where more people here

The lady running the place was efficient, kind and considerate. The accomodation was clean, comfortable and I felt safe.

The lady who runs this hostel is an absolute angel. I had all of my belongings stolen on my first night in Colombo and nowhere would accept me, I called her at 4am and she was so nice about it and told me to come straight over and got up to let me in. I spent a good few days at the hostel afterwards and she helped me out in so many ways, making phone calls, offering food, giving me mango on an evening, the list goes on. A safe and secure home from home 🫶🏻

Really enjoyed the stay, very nice hostel, great value, and the lady who runs it does a great job and is also great company.

I stay only for one night, and arrived very late after delays at the airport. The hostel owner was great! Let me check in late and provided everything I needed. The place was very quiet and I left early the next day but it has everything you would need for a longer stay

Beautiful Hostel oh my god

Great location, close to shops and restaurants and walking distance to a nice quiet beach with delicous spots to sit and eat and watch the sun set. I had everything I needed throughout my stay and thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hitchike!

Not sure if it’s really just low season, but the place was empty when I arrived and it seemed like there hasn’t been any guests for a long time. The beds in the dorm were dirty and covered in lizard poop, the kitchen didn’t look like it was in working condition. The cabinet was old and there was a weird note I found trapped inside that was a bit creepy. It said something along the lines of “traveling alone please talk to me”.
