loud. Not only the motorcycles but every sound echoes (some rugs would help a lot with this). Someone brought a "guest" home at 4am, and another night a guy I think was working there was sitting by the entrance hocking up a loogie every half hour and you could hear it on the top floor. Gross. Did not feel like a travelers hostel at all, def no social vibes. It's not really close to anything but the location is super convenient bc it is on two metro lines and bxt zocalo and zona rosa
No one speaks English. It's more of a Mexican workers habitat. No AC. Big ventilators instead. Noisy. Mosquitos. Stuffed beds in real small room. Kitchen is not really clean. I assume the guests are just dirty, because i saw the woman cleaning in the morning. I might be too European for this place. They do have electricity, light and shelve at the bed tho.
Excelente lugar, muy tranquilo, muy limpio, respetuoso y seguro.
There were only 2 bathrooms with showers and sinks in a building of 3 floors, and there wasn’t consistently soap to wash your hands. Given the volume of the washroom use, they were pretty gross. I did not feel comfortable with the hygiene conditions. Most of the rooms had an only a tiny window to the hallway, so the ventilation and sound were challenging. The “common area” was always occupied by people watching TV, and not very inclusive to socialization. I left early to move to a better p...
Walkable distance to transit and the center of the city was about 35 minutes by foot so pretty central. Not tons of stuff in the immediate area but good coffee nearby + taco stands and a 7/11 that was 24/7. The park nearby seemed sketchy and the interior of the hostel was a bit run down. For the price it did the trick though, and I'd recommend Jardin Juarez for late night entertainment.
You get what you pay for basically. Location is a bit ghetto, not very soundproof and rooms have no windows.
This place has a vibe of people living there, there was a family. I felt a little unsafe since the lady in charge sent me to a room full of men, the one from the top of the bunk was spying me through the space between the wall and the bed, this means that they accept any type of person who are not travellers or something. The vibe is unsafe full of men, not safe for women. The room does not have enough space for the 15 people who sleep there. One night was enough to stay there, no coming back!
The price for a private room is good. So you kind of get what you pay for. It was very loud and warm in our room. The bathrooms were always occupied. In general there was no atmosphere and everything looked a bit run down.
It wasn’t the best stay, my private room did not have a window. However, the price of a private was low and the location is good.
