The hostel is fairly far from the city at Manly, but it’s perfect for a quiet, relaxing beach break. The place is very clean and the staff were friendly. The hostel isn’t super sociable but it’s great if you’d like a quieter stay
Bed bugs in our room!! A guy told us he’d reported them but staff asked him not to tell us as we had just checked out - very unprofessional and unhygienic, as this risks spreading them. The person whose bed had them wasn’t told either. You must put your own sheets on, so we’re not confident beds are properly cleaned. No A/C, and people from other rooms walked in/out of our room a lot. A lot of long-stayers so quite cliquey. This said, kitchen, bathrooms, free breakfast and location were v ...
Clean place, great location, beds really comfy, great social space and social events! Honestly couldn’t fault it at all. Best hostel so far
Great and social hostel! With the best location and great staff!
Very good hostel. Feels more personal and friendly than most other hostels. Good value breakfast and possible to hire for free volleyball and surfboard. If you are a keen surfer would very much recommend.
Superb hostel. Clean. Social. Packed with FREE activities. Next door to all the best spots in Sydney. The staff are phenomenal too. Very friendly. Extremely quick to fix any issues. Whoever employed them should pay double🙂
Location is great and staff were helpful, however no air conditioning in rooms, only room with a/c is cinema room. All communal areas close at 11pm, no where to sit after this time. No bathroom on third floor.
Very friendly people and staff and it was a very social hostel which was brilliant for solo travelling. The hostel was also really clean. I had a great time!
Everything was excellent here, can be a bit noisy in the evenings and mornings but the hostel itself was great. The staff were so kind and having free breakfast is extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Good stay, no complaints
its a really nice hostel, very social, quite clean, cool staff 😎. I had a great time here, would definetely recommend. Nice location too, in Manly, basically right at the beach. Also appreciated the free rental of snorkeling gear, volleyballs, surf boards etc. as well as the fun activities!
Wish there was AC - often it was more humid inside than outside. Very clean and good breakfast, just a very young crowd and cliquey, not super sociable. The location was perfect, 5 min walk to the beach!
Great location! Nice showers and storage in the room.
Nice and clean property with a nice staff!
The hostel is beautiful, with an amazing social area and a big kitchen. Fantastic breakfast, and the rooms and beds are in perfect condition. I would totally stay here again. The events in the bar area are great too.
This was my favourite hostel stay in Aus! The staff were so welcoming, the hostel is so nice. It was all round my best experience. Having a bar upstairs is such a bonus, and access to all the sports equipment. As a solo traveller I never felt lonely thanks to those at Stoke.
No AC, apart from small fans near the bed which isn’t enough. The hostel also seems to have some regulars / cliques so feels a bit more difficult to make friends compared to other hostels in my view. Nice facilities and one or two good hostel events.
You actually stay in an other building right next to a night club. Bad cleaning also
No air conditioning in rooms, sometimes bad sleep because of it. Small personal fans are nice but very loud, surfboards available for free rent are only large foam boards for total beginners, wetsuits for rent are fine but none are full body, only short sleeved /legged which can be cold. Staff is nice, common area is cool, activities are decent too. Bathrooms are fine as well besides only being on the second floor which can be far No aircon is the shocker though, avoid this hostel during summer
I think this is the best hostel in Australia i’ve stayed in. Definetly reccomend!
