Mad Monkey on Broadway

I had really good time at Mad Monkey Broadway. The atmosphere is super social and welcoming, making it easy to meet people and have a great time. The staff are friendly and always helpful. they do events and activities during the week. Great central location, clean facilities, and an amazing vibe—definitely a place I’d recommend and come back to!

Ignacio, Ben, Mia, Molly, Joao, Paolo and the volunteers team have been wonderful, very helpful all the time, very nice, always smiling and they make this place cozy and special. I would recommend this hostel to everyone who wants to make friends.

Great Hostel!!! And I can say this after having been to many hostels so far!

It’s acceptable for the price, but cleanliness needs improvement. The kitchen was dirty for days, and several showers had clogged drains, making them uncomfortable to use. A sink in the women’s bathroom was also blocked. There was trash under the beds when I arrived. Some staff entered without knocking, though one was polite and respectful. On the positive side, reception staff were friendly, helpful with check-in, and welcoming throughout our stay.

If your main priority is to save money then you’ll probably be okay here. Our dorm room was very crowded with not enough storage space and had a very strong musty/moldy smell. Staff were rly nice and the free gym pass was much appreciated.

The shower floor and dorm room floor were dirty until my 5th day. Big cockroaches in the kitchen. No space in the fridge for food. One fridge was broken until my 5th day. One stove top was also out of order. The staff don't stick to the rules regarding fining people for not washing dishes/drying/putting away. WiFi was awful in the common area. Common areas were far too small for the number of people. The dorm room door didn't lock. They allowed people to vape inside the hostel.

Really good hostel to stay in Sydney, great location, beds are really comfortable and it feels like a home! Recommended!

The hostel didn’t feel clean an it’s very outdated, and the room smelt very musky. The kitchen is small and not particularly clean, the food areas get packed. People leave good reviews bc of the gym access (and in exchange for free laundry). Not a bad place but wouldn’t come back or recommend if you’re not looking for a gym.

Liked it a lot because of the atmosphere. Very friendly and cozy. Really nice place stay if you like to connect with people.

I arrived at 8:40pm and went to the check in counter. They told me the counter was closed until 9, and then both staff went back to watching a movie together on their laptop. My bunk smelled like piss. When I went to the desk in the morning for a towel, they said they don’t provide them here. They don’t even rent them. You have to go down the road and buy one

By far our favourite place to stay in Sydney. The staff were the most welcoming and made you feel right at home. The beds were comfy & the hostel was clean. The kitchen was on the smaller side but had everything you needed. Great stay

Great atmosphere, great community vibes. Love the events, free occasional dinner or breaky and the amazing staff. The rooms could have been cleaner and they didn‘t do much against the bed bugs when one room had them. The kitchen was tiny but had all necessary utensils, even an oven. Was the cheapest hostel during Christmas and NYE. Great hostel, would definitely stay again.

Good for a few cheap night in Sydney. Central location in walking distance to Central Station.

Awesome hostel to stay in.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in during my time in Australia, staff are extremely friendly and welcoming especially, Ben, Sam, Sean, Mikey, Molly and JJ. Location is perfect and the free gym access is a huge bonus while daily events keep you occupied.
