This is SUCH a great hostel in Sydney but the kitchen situation needs to be sorted. It’s a big hostel but only 2 working hobs for people to cook with means I waited 2 hours for it to be free to cook my food. If they sort this, the hostel would be unbelievable.
Best night sleep I’ve had in months and the crowd this hostel brings in are lovely thoughtful people!
I was honestly really surprised by how good the Pad Hostel was. The vibe and atmosphere are awesome, and it’s definitely one of the most social hostels I’ve experienced in Sydney, even with long-term guests. I stayed over Easter and loved the extra touches like the Easter hunt and free pizza. It was impressively clean for the number of people staying there, and the staff were super friendly and caring. I also loved the location, such a cute area and would definitely recommend.
Location of the hostel is pretty good and you can reach everything pretty fast by bus. Even though it’s not the biggest hostel the kitchen area is still a bit small for all the people there. Generally well maintained and cleaned. The people there are not always the most sociable, lots of long term people and groups who rather keep to themselves. Some activities were really fun and the people working and running the hostel were always very nice and helpful. So in general a good place to stay.
I stayed at Pad Hostel for a week at the start of the month in a 4 bed female dorm, it was a comfortable, homely stay, with a lovely rooftop area. It's about 30 mins walk to the centre. I will be staying here if im ever in Sydney again!
My two friends and I stayed at Pad hostel for just over three weeks and loved it. It genuinely is one of the best hostels I have been to. It’s very well priced, clean, the kitchen has many amenities, as does the girls bathroom, the rooms are bright and airy and the staff are all so lovely. It’s well located, offers sociable evenings and discounts off serval events. The kitchen area and rooftop are very sociable and there’s a mixture of long term/short term people. Would definitely recommen...
Pad hostel is soo cute, there’s so many small touches in this hostel which just make it amazing value for money, such as the mirrors in the rooms, free breakfast, hair tools , pizza night (dominos!!!) The only minor negative is just the kitchen there’s not much room to prep or cook and only one sink meaning by the time you’ve washed your stuff before eating so someone else can use it it’s gone cold. But for the price it’s no issue as there’s an air fryer / microwave so it’s easy ...
Really friendly vibe from the people staying long term even though I was only there a couple of nights! But the kitchen is tiny and four hobs is nowhere near enough for the number of people in there!!
There is a clear issue with cleanliness in the hostel. We experienced large cockroaches in our room, while the staff responded the best they could, it did not change the fact there was an overall issue at the property with cleanliness. There was also acknowledgment that there was a repeated issue with cockroaches at the property. The bathrooms were filled with spiders, cobwebs and the occasional cockroach. I would not advise staying to anyone thinking of doing so.
I love the location of this property, really easy to get the bus into CBD or down to the beach. The female only rooms were spacious and had a lot of natural light. The free breakfast was good. A few other things to add, the plug sockets in our room were all across from our beds and we couldn’t fit all our plugs in with our adapters so had to take turn charging, not ideal. The kitchen is very small. I also thought the staff who were staying long term weren’t very friendly.
Honestly it’s a nice and clean hostel, comfy too. They had a nice sized kitchen which was generally quite clean, and a good sized common area. A little hard to find a spot when it’s busy, but still not bad. Only cons are the location isn’t super close to any train, and the busses are like a 10 min walk away, but still accessible. Also the bed was super squeaky so kinda hard to sleep, and no outlet or light or anything near the bed. Lockers are an odd shape too, can’t get a backpack in th...
The staff here are really nice and helpful and it’s a good vibe overall (although very young and European). Location is good. However, the kitchen and lounge were so dirty & gross 90% of the time. I couldn’t sit in there. No one seemed to clean up after themselves and there was only one bin (no recycling or food waste!!). Kitchen bin was overflowing and cockroaches coming out of it. Bathrooms were often dirty and not cleaned enough. No light or plug socket next to beds either or curtains.
The room was absolutely gorgeous and exceeded expectations! Very spacious facilities and a pleasant atmosphere. Reception staff were warm, helpful and personable (especially Patsy!) This was my first time staying in a hostel and Pad Hostel made it an incredibly easy and wonderful experience. The Goki app was also very handy, especially when you're going to and from the communal spaces: there was no need to worry about forgetting my room key.
Very clean and quiet hostel, not too crowded. I loved the open roof area, but it’s missing some kind of canopy or umbrellas, because it’s was too sunny. Breakfast option is always a nice addition!
loved pad hostel!! You can easily go to cbd as well as Bondi or cogee. Everyone is so nice, open minded and careful. Would definitely recommend! :)
My favourite hostel in sydney! Location is perfect and staff are lovely. Also super comfy beds with 2 pillows, couldn't recommend more!!
Fav hostel I’ve stayed in so far, greeted by smiles, and everyone in there was always so happy!
Prima hostel, wel veel longtermers. Niet mega sociaal hierdoor, hadden wel veel activiteiten. Te kleine keuken.
Good value hostel in Sydney compared to others. Great free breakfast. I thought the bathroom in the 1st floor was way too small, as well as the kitchen. It would be better if the beds have outlets, a light and curtains. Would also be great if there was somewhere to hang wet beach clothes.
Such a great hostel, amazing links to all the hotspots in the city with a relaxed but inviting atmosphere.
