Easy to get to from the airport and looks cute from the outside, but definitely dirty based on the outdoor common spaces. I was never able to check in - doors were all locked, and no one answered calls or texts. After waiting most of an hour I gave up and made other arrangements; didn't hear back from the hostel until hours later. (They were apologetic, but offered no explanations or solutions.) It's probably a fine place to stay if you're young and low-maintenance, but I didn't get to find out.
I found the Crashpod to be clean and quiet. The staff to be welcoming and helpful. Comparably it is the least expensive you can find in the area, though the value for your money isn't the best. It is a bit pricey for what you get and mattressess are foam which do get rather hot under you. The outside is pleasant with the chickens and the kitties. Though in a pinch, I would stay here again.
Worst hostel ever, noisy people cleaning up 6 to 8am, they have no idea who are checking out and ask you to leave when you know you paid for more nights. Staff people is disrespectful, they're knocking doors everyday so hard even if the rest of people are sleeping.
It was great
It was so bad I could not stay-
Good budget hostel
It’s dirty and expensive for what you get. Wouldn’t recommend it.
Good enough location as it’s very central to many attractions. Even though the staff were nice, i did not feel safe.
The establishment is very noisy because there is no real partition. We were in a box, but you can hear everything in the establishment. We were disturbed all night by a disrespectful person who was calling loudly and loudly. It was very noisy all night. We didn’t sleep. Grrr
Staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful, resident chickens provide eggs for guests and the bathrooms and kitchen were kept clean during my stay. The location is great if you are travelling without a car as it is close to a stop on the regular bus service between Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs (including the Desert Hot Springs Greyhound stop). Note that the dorms are quite open-plan, though the female section is separated by a curtain.
for one night its okay to stay and near the national park. all in all the hostel is okay and the private room is also okay. but the beds were not that clean as it should be.
What a great place! Excellent value for money - with the Indian Wells tennis tourney going on, all other places around were at least 2-3 times more expensive. Lots of online nomads and world travelers to talk to. The highlight for me was 'if chickens lay eggs overnight we will give them away free for you for breakfast, but you have to cook them yourself' - and they did!
Stayed for a quick night but overall staff were friendly. Beds weren’t super comfortable and it was difficult to sleep. Also not the cleanest as there were bugs crawling on the kitchen counters. It wouldn’t be a place that I would stay at any longer though.
