Yala Ying Yang Hostel & Camping

Great place elephants came right up to the hostel in the night eating Saw rabbits peacocks all from the hostel

We were unable to stay at Yin Yang because our room had been double-booked, despite reserving it weeks in advance. We were only informed upon arrival at 6pm, which left us stranded without accommodation and scrambling to find an alternative at short notice. We were also told that double bookings are a common occurrence, which is completely unacceptable. That being said, based on our initial impression upon arrival, it may have been a blessing in disguise. Keep in mind, it’s cheap for a reason.

Lost in the wood but cute place very close to nature. The dormatory and the private double bed are outside. There are minimal walls. You have to love nature and everything that comes with it

The owner is a very nice person and the overall experience to sleep in a safari place was nice

Loved the stay here. The host is so sweet, they have great food from the owner's wife, it feels like you are directly in the jungle. If you are a group, sleep in the dorm room (no walls but 100% adventure night!!). If you are alone, rather opt for the private room - so you are not scared of cows next to you :-D. 10/10 would stay here again.

What a hostel, so magical. If you stay here you don’t need to go to the safari

Loved it! Owner goes out of his way to help you out with things and the pool table was great. The guy that works there is super friendly and kind. The owner arranged safari, taxis and anything else needed for around town and to the next destination! Thank you!

Awesome stay in nature, and a cosy double room. Elephant poop on your doorstep! Lots of monkeys visible from your room. The best part was the hosts and their child, so much fun and welcoming. Rated the facility a little lower as we got pretty cold with the limited blankets and open roof.

Vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar. heel gastvrij gevoel! met al mijn vragen werd ik geholpen. en om er te komeb lig het een beetje buiten het centrum. maar wel kom je al veel dieren tegen! Zeker de moeite waard om er te verblijven!

The hostel was located in the national park and surrounded by nature, which created a relaxed and nice atmosphere. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and we had the best time there.

i wish i knew there is a chance there wont be any people in the dorm. i got so scared when the cows showed up at 3am and had difficulties falling asleep anyway as there were no walls, only a rooftop. wifi connection was good and the food amazing. i also wish i knew its not worth doing the yala safari when it rains, had a feeling it was all about the money so nobody wad really that honest. also a jeep got stuck in the water, we spent hours trying to help. afterwards, it would have been nice if we...

I was the only person in the hostel. But i had a great time with the 60 y/o host. Played some pool. Lady came special for me to cook food and it was amazing!

This place is nice If your happy to be in with nature I enjoyed my stay here. The family that run the place are super lovely and welcoming , bringing home cooked food every evening They organise the safari for you at rs24,000 for the full day trip. You will have wildlife roaming the area. It was very peaceful area tho far from town 20/30 mins away. Owner can arrange TikTok for you around 1000rs one way Sand dunes also cool and private beach

The staff here were like family, I stayed here 2 nights and I have never felt more at home in my travels. So refreshing being in nature with kind people and amazing food. The beds made it feel like I was camping in the national park as it was an open room but I felt completely safe. Recommend to everyone!

We had such a great time!! The Host Senaka is amazing he delivered great service and is very kind. The owner always brought us nice local food from the city. On request they will also organize a safari tour to Yala National Park.
