my favourite hostel in india! very homely, clean space and great people :)

Barefoot is more than just a hostel, it's a second home. I found this place after changing the first structure, and I couldn't come across a better place. The welcome, the place and Vikash the host make this place a safe haven. The environment is calm and peaceful, the common areas are large and well maintained, the music relaxes the soul and in addition there is the kitchen completely available and well equipped. In short, nothing to complain about but that I miss you, see you soon

I had a long stay at Barefoot Hostels and had an amazing experience. The hostel is the best in Varkala for backpackers looking for a chill, laid-back culture. The rooms and washrooms are cleaned every day. The hosts, Karthik and Vikas, are really helpful and kind. The stay is within walking distance of the cliff and beach, making it very convenient as well.

Barefoot Hostel in Varkala is more than just a place to stay – it’s an experience. The vibe here is warm, welcoming, and truly feels like home. The host Vikas and Karthik make you feel like it’s your place. The location is perfect – beach is near and surrounded by cafes and local spots, yet peaceful enough to relax. The common areas are beautifully designed to bring people together, making it super easy to meet fellow travelers. The dorms and rooms are clean, cozy, and well-maintained.

Supposed to stay for 3 nights and ended up staying 2 weeks! Great hostel , that feels more like a house with your mates. Location is right next to the beach. Would recommend surf lessons as they can be booked through the hostel and is a great way to socialise. Also yoga available closeby, as well as Kalari which is definitely worth a try! Can’t wait to come back as it was a tough place to leave.

My stay at Barefoot was so amazing I kept extending and extending my trip because the hostel became my home away from home. The hosts are amazing and chill, and they have 2 really sweet dogs. It was so nice to make food in the kitchen, and the beds are the most comfortable hostel beds I’ve ever slept in. It is such a relaxing and welcoming environment, don’t hesitate to book this place for your time in Varkala! You won’t want to leave!

This is the best hostel i have stayed in India! The owners are two best friends that are so chill, kind and helpful! They are always taking care of everyone and everything! The hostel is well located, super clean and tidy. Perfect place for meet people, chill vibes and enjoy the heart of Verkala! The toilets are spacious and cleaned everyday, the common areas amazing! They have books, drinking water, fully equiped kitchen and amazing facilities! The best place to stay!

Amazing place to stay in Varkala

Amazing hostel with perfect hosts, this one's a must try at Varkala! Barefoot is a serene space surrounded by nature, be it a quiet zone to unwind or a common area to socialize you have them all. Barefoot is one of my personal favourites because of the unchanging happy vibe. People extending their stay is a common sight here. You'll also get delicious & healthy homely food at their in-house cafe run by co-host Vikash. It's perfectly located within walking distance of the beaches & attractions.

Barefoot is a great place to be in Varkala for travelers. It has a very well maintained dome and the toilets are well kept. It is a really great spot for solo travelers and couples. They do helped me with finding great food spots and also made it easier for me to explore Varkala.
