Cafe Cerveza

Was a very chill place and nice. There's not much to do in Popoyo if you don't surf. The closest minimarket was at 20-30 minutes by walk and expensive. They don't have a kitchen but an affordable restaurant. The food was nice.

Far from everything, next shop was almost 2km away. rooms are very old and not very clean. laundry paid per piece(?). boring place overall

Die sanitären Anlagen waren teilweise kaputt (z.B. ist der Wasserhahn immer wieder abgefallen), Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig, vor allem bei den Betten. Insgesamt wirkt alles etwas heruntergekommen. Personal nicht sonderlich freundlich. Für eine Nacht war’s okay.

Place is great! But no kitchen.

First off, the hotel staff are really nice and the place is well located near the surf. There is some really good food and coffee options pretty much next door. Unfortunately, Our private room was full of termites. They did their best to accomodate us while they fixed the infestation. They even gave us the option to get a refund because of this. So very accomodating but not the best accomodation, worth paying the extra money for elsewhere.

Awful hostel. It was so dirty, we had a terminate infestation in our room which people should not be allowed to stay in but they gave us that room. We managed to switch rooms but they did the same to someone else. The shared bathroom and toilets were disgusting. One staff member on the first night was lovely but the other was extremely rude. There’s not really any restaurants or food places nearby - overall couldn’t wait to leave

If there’s nowhere else to stay it’s deffo an option, but be prepared for beyond basic. The 4 bed dorms downstairs are infested with ants and beyond small and hot, so choose the 6 bed dorms upstairs - it also seems to be the only shower that drains properly. The staff were nice. Free drinking water provided and location right on the beach - about 45 minute walk along the beach to get to Popoyo (Las Salinas town). Hostel sencillo para pasar 1 o 2 noches, se encuentra ubicado del lado de popoyo, si deseas ir a surfear a la bahía de principiantes o a magnific rock es una buena opción, para ir a la ola de popoyo (nivel intermedio en adelante) te conviene más buscar hospedaje en Guasacate. El personal amable, la limpieza normal (podría ser mejor). Me parece que en general en popoyo los precios de los alojamientos son caros en relación a la calidad y lo que ofrecen.

Super nice location close to several breaks and many food options. Room was a bit small for 4 people, but I mostly just used it to sleep. Wifi worked very well. Would recommend bringing a lock to place your belongings in the outdoor lockers since there is not a lot of space in the room. The food on site was delicious and very reasonably priced. Super chill vibe.

Loved my stay here the first room I was in only one of the fans was working so they moved me into my own room without me asking. Staff were very friendly and food was delicious and reasonably priced. Also can’t beat the location if you’re a surfer, pretty much right in between popoyo main break and playa Santana, easy to walk to both.

Had a nice nearly 2 week stay here. The rooms and setup are pretty simple, nice space with hammocks to relax and good meals at the card. you have no kitchen to cook for yourself. welcoming staff. The area is more calm than the area of Popoyo main spot where you have to walk 25 min. It's near beginners bay, no problem to rent a board or scooter. Ocean market is 15 min. by feet.

Me alojé en este hostal sencillo, situado directamente en la playa, y quedé muy satisfecho. El personal fue extremadamente amable y servicial. Para los viajeros que no tienen grandes exigencias, puedo recomendar este alojamiento sin ninguna duda. La comida también fue excelente y muy recomendable. Really bad place to stay in an amazing location. Also, it's not really a hostel. It's a cafe/restaurant with some tiny dorms attached that are hotter than the sun. There's 1 small fan for 4 beds which I think is awful for the cost the dorm. I'm usually ok with just fans in dorms but this was like being baked alive. There's also not really a dedicated place for guests to hang out, just the cafe.

Bed bugs!! Punaises de lit!! Had to change hostel after that. Please do yourself a favour and pay a little more for a cleaner hostel without inhabitants inside your mattress.

The worst hostel we’ve stayed in, in nearly 4 months, avoid. The rooms are unclean, 1 shower and toilet, which is not clean and just disgusting. The staff are so rude, asked multiple times about WiFi and washing laundry met with the response ‘not today’ even though they weren’t busy or doing anything. Breakfast isn’t great and takes ages to come. Booked a taxi which is through then unknown by us, charged a fortune for a 3 minute drive causing us to miss connections to other places, ple...

Pros about this place is the location and the food. Smoothie bowl for breakfast and burrito bowl were amazing. Also the location is right on the beach. Other than that though, it’s not very good. The shower was a dribble of water and there was no AC in the room. There was fans but it was so uncomfortably hot and sweaty and the fans were actually really loud. There was also a GIANT cockroach in our room, general cleanliness wasn’t good.

Amazing hostel, fairly priced! The staff was lovely! The wifi was actually working perfectly! The food is amazing! Ended up extending for two weeks!

Location is amazing for those wanting to surf beginner’s bay all day. AC in the private room was great, but the room could definitely use fresh paint and less aggressive lighting. Half of the staff is nice, the other half seem lazy and bothered when you ask them for something. One of the receptionists would spend her time blasting reels from her phone at max volume. Food was very tasty and ok priced!!
