Rustic hostel with clean dorms with fans and cold water showers. Good size pool. Nice owner. Excellent price on breakfast and lunch menu. Board on wall gives numbers for delivered food and taxi for visiting other bars etc. I would stay again
Relaxing spot in the quiet area in the nature, the owner offers trips to local places for dinners, also have knowledge and information about everything happening around and Nicaragua life.
Property is really nice, with a pool and good facilities, the staff are so friendly and show you all the local spots to go to at night, including a great Ice Cream spot 🙌
I'd heard great things from friends who had stayed at Ruamoko last year and it did not disappoint. Loved the rural feel, no big city noise, a real secluded get away near the beautiful beach. Yummy breakfast the next morning. Refreshing dip in the pool and picturesque walks around the area. Very relaxing!
Ruamoko was such a perfect getaway from the busy cities in Nicaragua. trent the owner was the sweetest man and gave us such good recommendations for what to do around town and even where were going on our next stop. we we're two girls traveltand felt so safe there. it's a perfect place to relax and unwind. good breakfast and lunch options at the hostel. beach is only a 7 minute walk and a like 5 minute walk to the absolute best pizza in Nicaragua. 100% would stay there again!!
I think this might once have been a good hostel. Now it is completely empty, you aren't allowed to use the kitchen and the owner just plays videogames all day and night.
It’s very dark to walk around after sunset especially as a female. Nearest shop / restaurant is about 30/40 mins away and the hostel doesn’t sell any dinner options.
A nice, but rather basic hostel. Although 10 minutes walking from the lovely beach, the biggest problem is the location. It is quite far away from the hip restaurants and café’s in Popoyo. The atmosphere could be improved by some music and nice lighting.
Overall a good budget hostel. The place needs some love here and there. The stuff is friendly and offers laundry service. Breakfast and lunch is available. Walking distances: 10 mins to the beach 30 mins to Beginner Bay 45 mins to Popoyo
Trent was so lovely and made me and my sister stay very comfortable, he had lots of recommendations and was always there to answer any questions or have a laugh. He also very kindly drove me and my sister into Rivas. Was lovely to hang out there and recover after NYE :))
Trent the owner was very kind and helpful with whatever I needed during my stay. They have a great pool, plenty of places to chill in hammocks and cushioned chairs. The dorm rooms are very dark during the night, and there is 6 fans per dorm making it a very comfortable sleep. I was here just to surf and relax for a week and that’s exactly what I got. Can definitely recommend staying here if that’s what you’re looking for, especially in the low season.
Ruamoko was the most incredible stay ever! Trent is an awesome person who’s created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all travellers. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable with each person having their own personal fan to sleep with! I would recommend this place to anyone travelling to Nicaragua and would go back again myself in a heartbeat! What an amazing place!
I absolutely loved my stay at Ruamoko. Everything was so accommodating from location (walking distance to beach at Mag Rock), pool, breakfast, and friendly staff all around. Such a chill vibe and much needed. Trent was also amazing in his hospitality and knowledge of the area. Can't recommend it enough! Thank you, Trent and Ruamoko!!
chill hostel, wel wat afgelegen maar prima eten
Very chill place to get away off the beaten path, beautiful surfing close and the team at the Hostel was super accomodating. If you are in the area or looking for a place to stay, this is the one.
Enjoyed my stay, the owner was very special but nice to us, he took us out for dinner and icecream twice. The location itself has huge potential but no one puts work in there. Definitely more run down than the pictures but still very nice
Enjoyed our stay. The pool and communal area was nice. Trent was great, loads of suggestions and advice on what to do as well as taking us to a great dinner spot.
