Popoyo Loco surf house

Power keeps running out for hours at a time. They don’t have a power backup and the filtered water supply is very limited.

Idéalement placé pour aller surfer et profiter des évènements le soir. Hostel parfait pour les backpackers cherchant un prix abordable, une cuisine bien équipée et ambiance reposante. Le personnel est très sympathique et à l'écoute, j'ai passé une excellente semaine !

Good spot. Right next to the two best and cheapest food spots also the shop, Short walk to big surf for sunset but more importantly it’s a shorter walk than most hostels to the surf breaks south. I found the vibe friendly but not very social but thats more of a “luck of the draw” situation I had mates staying at other hostels so wasn’t a concern

Mi estadía en Popoyoloco fue excelente. El personal es muy amable y están muy atentos a tu bienestar. Siempre dispuestos a ayudar y con la mejor predisposición. El hostel esta permanentemente limpio ya que barren y trapean varias veces al día, y para variar al frente del hostel esta Nica Grill, que ofrece comida de primer nivel a un precio accesible. Defenitely better than the ratings! It's a clean place and the owner/manager is super nice. Only the toilets don't really flush well...

Great place to stay, staff is lovely and really good location with everything you need within walking distance. Great food aswell at the nica grill we ate here most nights!

Wie aus vorherigen Bewertungen herausgegangen ist, verstehe ich nicht wieso das Hostel keine bessere Bewertung hat! Es ist sehr sauber, das Personal super freundlich und die Zimmer sind top. Man kann dort super entspannen und es ist direkt am Strand!

Such a lovely place to stay in Popoyo! Walking distance to all the breaks, and very close to lots of local spots to eat at. Friendly staff and very chill accommodation with great communal space to hang out.

I don’t know why this hostel isn’t rated at least a 9. If it was bad in the past, they’ve clearly improved substantially. Everything is spotless, staff are extremely kind and all the guests are social. Extended the stay 5x because Popoyo is so beautiful and the hostel is right on the beach.

Great place to stay. Location is perfect, close to great restaurants. Staff were kind. The owner was very helpful. Clean and well equipped kitchen. Very spacious rooms. Be aware water and water pressure is inconsistent in the bathrooms/showers. Otherwise a perfect stay. Gracias

there was no kitchen but in total one of the prettiest hostels i have ever seen. super chill atmosphere

Cool Hostel with nice people, a good vibe and perfect location. Unfortunately it wasn’t very clean and no one would come and clean the rooms during the stay. Also there were no towels included in the price. Compared to a way cheaper and better hostel we stayed at Ometepe Popoyo Loco hasn’t convinced us. The restaurant (Nica Grill) which is located inside of the hostel is really good and worth a visit. The food is really yummy and the owners are super nice.

Nachts war eigentlich immer der Strom weg und unsere Klospühlung im Zimmer hat nur ca. 3 mal am Tag funktioniert, die Küche war auch nicht so super ausgestattet. Ich hatte trotz allem eine tolle Zeit dort und würde immer wieder kommen. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit, man konnte Surfbretter umsonst ausleihen und direkt vorm Hostel surfen.

Nice and quiet hostel. 20m away from the beach and in 1min you can reach two supermarkets. The dorm and kitchen are good too, the lockers are big enough for the bagpacks. Owner is also really nice, and even drove me to the busstop on his motorcycle

There‘s a lot that has to be done to make it a hostel with ambiance. There were pump problems with the water, the host only said after our showers with little water that he has to turn it up manually while he‘d be at a bar next door. He was very friendly and helpful though by bringing us to the bus stop. Some quick fixes around the house need to be made as well. Water refill only for a dollar, accommodation is too expensive for the money, beach access is nice and staff are lovely.

Overall a good hostel, but my pillow had a lot of mould in it and there's no soap to wash your hands in the bathroom/toilet

very nice hostel located close to the Popoyo mainbreak and one of the few hostels with a kitchen in Popoyo. downside is that the kitchen has only 2 cooking plates which is too little and the fridge is very old and doesn't work sometimes, but it's supposed to be replaced soon. other than that really good price and quality and the owner is incredibly nice and can help you out with everything. Definite recommendation!
