Great place, cheap and nice people and great location would come again!

The photos of the dorm rooms do not at all represent the actual rooms. I booked this place because of the solid wooden bunk beds in the images, presuming I would get at least a slat base so a firm bed, ideally a quiet one too. Instead the shared dorm rooms have completely different bunk beds - metal and squeaky and on wires. The volunteer workers seem to be responsible for cleaning the shared kitchen, and this area is not kept very well. Dirty surfaces, grubby dishes. Nice enough place overa...

Merci pour votre accueil !!!! J'ai passé une formidable semaine à Amar. Ericeira était formidable, même en hors saison. L'équipe était très sympathique, serviable et à l'écoute. Mini bémol pour le froid mais les grandes maisons portugaises ne sont pas optimisées pour le mois de décembre.

Wirklich ein toller Ort um runterzufahren - nicht zu groß, nicht zu klein, nicht zu viel party einfach ein “Ruhepool” ◡̈ ich war in dem 6er mixed dorm und es ist ein ganz simples Zimmer ohne schnick schnack aber mehr braucht es auch nicht. Shared bathroom mit 2 Toiletten und 2 duschen. Wird nur nach der Surf Stunde etwas busy sonst hat man immer genug Platz, da das Badezimmer nur vom dorm und 2 weiteren Zimmern geteilt wird. Es gibt einen wunderschönen Garten und die Lage ist großartig...

Hostel incrível! Localização otima, quarto privado aconchegante e com banheiro muito bom. Equipe muito educada e ambiente coletivo muito legal.

Stayed here one night so don’t have a big frame of reference. But very cute, beautiful atmosphere. Seemed harder to socialize because only one dorm. They need curtains on their beds and this place will be perfect. Great location if you like the town. Good for surfing too.

The Hostel is well located, very clean. It was very calm, which we appreciated. The downside we had is that our room was right next to a construction site so it was very noisy at 8AM until 6PM. Also there is no AC or ventilation, so I would have appreciated to at least have one ventilator to have the air move in the room. Other than that, we did a surf lesson and really enjoyed the lesson with the instructor, he was very nice and helpful!

Hostel très propre, ce qui est le plus important! Autrement, quelques améliorations pourraient être faites, notamment ajouter des crochets ou du rangement dans les chambres ou réparer quelques installations défectueuses (pommeau de douche; crochet dans la chambre). C'était un hostel très calme, ce que nous avons apprécié de notre côté. La cuisine est bien équipée, grande et propre!

Normally don’t give bad reviews, but the staff were very disrespectful and unwilling to clean the vomits of the guests that were repeatedly drunken all night in the dorm. The dorm was kept dirty and smelly throughout the nights.

I only spent one night at Amar but i highly recommend this place. Super friendly staff, beautiful clean room and amazing location! I would go back without hesitation! Thank you

Such an incredible hostel for such a great price! Sonia was so helpful and wonderful, and we booked our surf lessons with her (which we definitely recommend as well!) the private room and bathroom were clean and well equipped. The hostel is so close to the grocery store, bus stops, beach and main centre/restaurants. Honestly nothing bad to say about our stay here, and if we come back to Ericeira, we will definitely stay here again, and book more surf lessons with them!

Located close to shopping opportunities, bit far from the beach though. Not the most sociable staff, and social areas are located a bit too far away. Kitchen was nice. Good beds, clean.

Nice hostel just a few blocks up the hill from the central praça with everything you need. Great kitchen, bar, rooftop patio, and garden areas. It was a little quiet/lonely but this is probably because I visited off-season. I can imagine it is buzzing during the summer high season (but this is not a party hostel, thankfully). Sonia was helpful and interesting to chat with. I would come back next time I visit Ericeira. Thanks!

Amar is a very nice hostel from the facilities perspective but it lacks a sense of community. So if your intention is to make friends and do anything social with people from the hostel this is not the hostel for you. Many of the tenants are traveling with someone else and aren’t open to conversation. I watched several conversations happen between solo travelers as they made dinner and then watch the same people place their ear buds in when they sit down to eat.

This hostel has lovely common areas, is very clean, but not as social as other hostels. I slept horribly here because the beds are LOUD and squeaky (in the dorm at least). Rooms/shared bathroom are very clean and the staff are all very kind. Wifi is good for working remote. Location: This location is right next to the "cute" part of town with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, groceries, shops, etc. About 8 min walk to the beach.

Had the best stay at Amar! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hostel was clean, had great comunal areas and a very fun / relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be going back. Shout out also to Amar surf school and Ksander who were awesome!!
