Hate to leave bad reviews but this place is not really much fun at all. Really just a large hotel, u got a private room which helped as AC worked but it's right on a main and very loud street and can gear everything. Had drunk and loud people next to me, room was stinky and very unclean overall, I can handle old but unclean and dilapidated shows. It's the middle of a market area which is ok if you wanna shop. Breakfast was nothing, horrible chicory coffee and a nasty plastic box of cookies.
Likely your best option for a cheap stay in La ceiba. Good location and feels safe.
We enjoyed this Hostel! We had a private room with a big cozy bed+private bathroom. It was clean and the AC worked well! We booked a rafting tour through the hostel which was very fun! The staff was very helpful organizing it, they actually had no more Space for that day, but organized an additional tour for us for the same prize.
Ok if you need to catch the bus as the agency is super close but the area is a bit sketchy. For one night it’s ok
This is nog hostel, but a hotel/motel offering '2 bed dorms' which are actually twin rooms. On arrival I had to pay more than what my booking said on Hostelworld, even after showing them the price on hostelworld. The staff is not all very friendly, showerhead is broken and the window looks out over... a wall. Free coffee and biscuits though. Good enough for an overnighter, nothing more. If you want to stay longer, go to the hostel 'Jungle River Lodge' 10 min up the river, much better!
Old facility in busy area but good stay for 1 or 2. nights.
The worst hostel I stayed in my life. You can say it is more hotel than a hostel.
My own private room with ac?! Yes I would recommend staying here! I also managed to sneak in a hiking tour with them, which I would also recommend, it’s a great way to spend the day in the jungle if you don’t want to spend it in the city! Go to the waterfalls or rafting, es muh bonita
I did 3 tours with these guys, before going to volunteer at the jungle river lodge, they dropped me off after the tour, i was there for 4 hours max when the owner texted me that she doesnt support that i took another company for some tours and told me to leave and find volunteer elsewhere, within minutes i texted the hostal here, they picked me up the next day and took me with rafting, as soon as i got back the boss hired me to volunteer here. The staff/tour guides are the best i have seen!
DO NOT STAY HERE – UNSAFE & AGGRESSIVE STAFF! We were robbed in our room—MacBook, AirPods, and a watch stolen. Other guests were also targeted. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and refused to help, hiding behind “the police are investigating.” Instead of assisting, they forced us to leave, even sending men to intimidate us into leaving. This place is NOT safe, and management is a disgrace. If you care about your safety, stay far away from this place!
This is more like a hotel than a hostel. The AC worked great other than the fact that it kept dripping directly onto the bed. It soaked one of our bags and the bed so we switched rooms into a slightly less nice room. After about 15 minute in the new room the AC started dripping onto our bed again so we moved the bed and put a trashcan underneath. It dripped all night! If they fixed the dripping AC units this would be a fantastic review. This is our only complaint.
The “hostal” is all good for night before getting ferry. You will most likely have a private room, got one with a bathroom, was great, and AC. Does the job, yes bathroom isn’t amazing but is fine.
The location is good and the beds are clean. I booked a dorm but got a room for myself. They have a kitchen and free coffee. The staff doesn’t speak english and the furniture in the halls are dirty and demolished. For one night it’s fine but I wouldn’t stay longer. WiFi worked. Also the water in my room didn’t work so they let me shower in a different room. I wouldn’t come again.
The staff were talking about me to each other when I was completing my reservation, presuming I wouldn't understand. I felt a sense of disorganisation and the guy kept saying "amiga" (I'm a boy) and trying to persuade me to take a taxi the next day that I knew was too expensive and had seen the driver persuading him to do. When I got to the room, the bed was being dripped on and had been moved to the side so they clearly knew. The sheets were full of black bits so I can only presume they weren't...
I liked it. The staff was very friendly, everything was clean and the the bed was very comfortable. All at a good price.
