Couldn’t evens find the hostel. Turned up when the sun was at its peak and spent 30 minutes searching. I knew people had struggled with getting in but didn’t realise we’d struggle to even find it. Ended up booking another hostel.

Not one to leave reviews but had a horrible experience. got to hostel and no one there. was left in the pouring rain with no bed for the night. pretty sure i have pneumonia now. radio silence from hostel despite various emails and messages. sad. would not recommend.

Couldn’t get into property, no one would answer the door or phone

Terrible place. No reception, non functioning A/C and the one guy we met told us this isn’t even a hostel. Lights don’t work. Wouldn’t recommend.

Leider war keiner da zum Check in, wir mussten uns die Bettbezüge selber holen. Es gab zwei Tage kein fließend Wasser, also keine Toiletten und duschen. In der Unterkunft ist eine Katze wo in die Zimmer geht

Nous nous sommes fais virer de l’hostel. Un matin une femme vient vers nous pour nous dire « Check out hoy » mais nous avions réservé jusqu’au lendemain. Après lui avoir expliqué ça. Elle nous a expliqué que c’était pas grave, fallait qu’on parte aujourd’hui, que nous devions trouver autre chose car elle fermait l’hostel. La cause ? Nous avons pas eu d’eau (donc pas de douche, ni toilette) pendant 3 jours et l’hostel était sale donc elle ne voulait pas nous f...

Nice old school hostel in Bacalar. Nice staff and good location. Great value for money too!

we stayed for one night - had so much potential , good location etc , but was lacking cleanliness - I had a mouldy pillow and asked for a new , and was given another mouldy pillow so resorted to sleeping on a jumper but got what we payed for , receptionist was nice

Ni mucho ni poco. Por el precio que tiene, ya que tenga cocina es mucho. Lamentable que solo había una persona trabajando y el resto del día quedaba sin atención el Hostel. Pero cama buena y limpia. Cocina. Le faltan detalles como que nunca había papel, detergente, dispenser de agua. Y si necesitabas algo no había nadie trabajando. Pero repito, por el precio está bien

Not cleaned in 3 days I was there. Only volunteers (no staff) who are hardly ever there. Half the seating shower and toilet area is uncovered so so when it rains everything is wet. No atmosphere. In town & super cheap are two redeeming factors.

L’auberge était pas si mal, après il n’y avait pas d’eau chaude au douche …

It's a small hostel making it social. Good value for money considering the cheap price

The hostel doesn't look like the pictures (maybe when it was first built but definitely needs a spruce up!) the dorm wall only goes up 3/4 of the way so we could hear everything! People in the kitchen, people on the phone, people coming in and out. Someone was walking around at 5am and I couldn't get back to sleep we ended up leaving very early ...

I stayed just one night. The locker in the dormitory is enough big for big bag, the bed is confortable. But for me, the lake of purified water is a bad point. That's the only one hostel I did without purified water. And more equipment in the kitchen (pan) and lights in the showers could be better. The garden is nice to chill.

los dueños, si bien son amables y serviciales no están nunca en el hostal, por lo que el baño tuvo fallas que no se repararon, no se hizo aseo tampoco (durante mi estadía)

Établissement qui dépanne, pas cher. Gros problème d’eau (pas de pression ou pas d’eau). Toilettes souvent bouchés. Sans plus

So I arrived at 8pm nobody was there, the door was open, I entered and find others guest that told me to call a number. I just received a text message about my assigned bed and some rules. The problem was that my bed and the others in the room were occupied! I try to call again the number and I didn't receive an answer ... I ended up sleeping in a dirty bed because it was to late to find another place.

Hostel ist von außen nicht zu erkennen. Auf den Bildern sieht es wirklich sehr einladend, ordentlich und sauber aus. In der Realität leider abgewohnt und schmutzig (Fußboden, Dusche, äußere Waschbereiche). Es ist leider alles teilweise sehr in die Jahre gekommen und wir waren etwas enttäuscht.

When I arrived there was no one to open the door. Another guest had to open it for me. And she complained that the owner was never around to welcome guests and that she always showed everyone around. The kitchen was dirty and there was no drinking water at all. Via WhatsApp the owner gave me the code to the key hanging outside but the lock was so old and damaged that I did not dare te leave the hostel, afraid that i wouldn’t be able to get in again. I decided to book another hostel
