Very cozy hostel. Clean and friendly with great facilities and helpful staff.
Do not book any tours through this hostel, they charged me double for a 3 day Amazon tour then refused to refund me the difference. Complete scam and they were aware they were charging double.
We stayed for five days and prolonged for another two days because we enjoyed the view from the terrace, the kindness from the staff and the community with the other people there. Would recommend !
Super aardige familie.
A really lovely base for exploring Iquitos and the jungle. The rooms are clean, very comfy beds with everything you need. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and kind going out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Communal areas are really nice, relaxing roof terrace space and a very well equipped kitchen. Can’t speak highly enough of this accommodation and would recommend to anyone coming to Iquitos.
Basic hostel in Iquitos, a little outside the place de armas but all walkable if desired. I had a private en-suite, it was more practical than comfy but served the purpose. Staff were very friendly. Comparably expensive drinks tho. Great and bright kitchen, very nice social area upstairs but not the most social place I’ve been (also depends on the time of year and travelers obviously)
Great hostel, lovely staff although only really saw them when we arrived. Room was perfect. Kitchen facilities good. Location is a little out the way but easy to get to using local bikes. Breakfast not included.
Its a really cute place. The neighborhood wasn’t the best as a woman alone tho, and there isn’t much around. They don’t provide drinking water, you have to pay for it (at unreasonable prices imo). Also, it was kinda sad to see only one trash for everything. But other than that, the terrace upstairs is quite nice, and the place is nicely decorated!
After a few days in the Jungle this was the perfect hostel to rest and explore Iquitos. The staff is very friendly and helpful with recommendations and organizing an airport shuttle. The highlight is the terrace on the upper floor. Perfect to relax, read and connect with others :)
great hostel, Carlos speaks fluent English and was super helpful in arranging Amazon tours
This hostel is unique because its family owned and is therefore very cozy. If you don’t want a generic chain hostel experience but something with real Peruvian people, come here. Carlos in particular is a genuine guy who went an extra mile for me and went all the way to the port to ask about schedules for speedboats heading to Pucallpa.
It’s a nice hostal. Be careful you have to let them know you want the breakfast, otherwise you do not get breakfast
Amazing stay, highly recommend!
This property was great value for a private room which was very comfortable and had a functioning TV. It had an AC and a fan which made it very comfortable as iquitos is super hot. We stayed in this hostel before and after our jungle trip. The owner of the hostel is also very helpful and accommodating. The only fault I have is the location,, but it’s not too far a walk from the centre (although I wouldn’t go walking at night)
Good stay! Clean, and good kitchen and living area. No windows in room.
Great place to stay the night in Iquitos, very clean, friendly staff and great air conditioning
Charming place. The stay was perfect after three days in the jungle. The room and bathroom were very clean. The best part was the hospitality of the family who welcomed you and watching the beautiful sunset on the terrace.
My stay at Amazon House was great. The place was quiet, the room was clean, and the family was ready to make you feel at home. I would definitely come back.
