Old Town Munkenhof

Really nice place in the heart of the old Town. Nice quite street in front. Three clean bathrooms on each floor. Nothing bad to say.

Overall the location is good, but while getting access you’re welcomed by a very bored reception and a very steep staircase, leading to a floor where the toilets/showers are very limited. The common areas were very sad and quite dirty, could really use a good renovation.

The absolute best location. Less than a 5 minute walk to food and sites. Located on a side street making it quite at night. No noisy street traffic. Nice kitchen and hangout area. Definately not a party hostel which is a huge thumbs up for me. You can buy canned beer.

The hostel was clean, spacious, and overall comfortable. I booked a twin room with a private bathroom, which was exactly as expected. The only downside was having to climb to the 4th floor with no elevator. The atmosphere was just okay — not bad, but nothing special.

Very central hostel, directly in the old town. Staff was very kind. Cozy rooms, quiet at night.

Always excellent service by the staff, helpful and welcoming every time, great location, and unmatched value for the money. This was my third or fourth time staying there, and I look forward to return in the future.

was Ok, but when askabout local food restaurant the receptionist wasn't very helpful. but we did find good local food&beer at the market building, and a pub called Ludwig.

Das Hostel ist klein und süss. Die Mitarbeitern an der Rezeption war nicht wirklich freundlich oder einladend sich dort wohl zu fühlen. Desweiteren gab es kaum andere Kundschaft und das ganze Hostel war sehr tot in der Winterzeit. Mit dazu ist die Lage zwar nicht schlecht mitten in der Altstadt, jedoch fühlt man sich dort nicht wirklich sicher, da viele Betrunkene und anderweitige komische Gestalten dort sind, da es in einer Gasse ist. Ausstattung ist in Ordnung, Fenster sind undicht = kalt!

We had one couples room in the fourth floor which was fine, neat and quiet. The quadruple room in the first floor wasnt good though. It was between the kitchen and Games room, so it was noisy. Front doors buzzers sound was heard frequently. The room smelled of mold. So for the quadruple room its a NO and for the room upstairs it's a YES. The hostel overall appearance was fine, not super clean but basic level clean. The beds and the bedding was good. Personnel was friendly in an estonian way.

Late check in email should say that street and room codes are the same. The way its currently worded can lead to misunderstandings

Good location but the cleaner was quite rude to me over a misunderstanding about the laundry (which was a result of lack of communication from the hostel)

I loved my trip to Tallinn! This hostel is in a great location. Unfortunately I had to take off points because of a rude traveler (which I totally know is NOT the hostels fault) I needed to check in late (which I told the hostel prior) but when I went to the reception to call and check in, the guy that I followed in freaked out at me that I couldn’t be there and forced me to the street, even after I showed I had a reservation. I almost gave up and went to a hotel, thankfully I didn’t!

Excellent location, well furnished and relaxed common areas. WiFi not available in all areas which was a let down.
