i believe it's the best hostel close to bahía drake. it's perfectly located between the bay& white sand beach which cuts the long hike along the coastline in half and you can easily walkfrom both sides of the hostel to explore wildlife and jungle. the staff is very friendly, Karolinacooksdelicious, andthe family living in the area shares information about the wildlife and place surrounding. you walk up to the howler monkeys and see coatis passing by outside the dorms. don't forget to buy food bf...
This was by far my highlight of my Costa Rica travels! I’ve seen countless animals (fireflies, sloth, ant eater, monkeys, caiman, dolphin, snake, coatis etc), the sky is breathtaking with all the stars, you’re really remote in the jungle, we swam with bioluminescence during new moon and beyond that people are sweet there and the food is delicious at the restaurant! I stayed 6 nights and would’ve loved to stay longer! What a magical place!
Amazing place in the middle of the jungle and beautiful beaches with really few people around. Perfect if you want to enjoy the nature without much people around. For food, besides the hostel restaurant, there is a tiny village in a 5min walk with 1 restaurant. Drake Bay is 45min walk. The only downside: in the hostel part I believe facilities need some work done to improve their state. All in all loved it quality price, would stay there again!
I stayed four nights in a the female dorm. It’s a large room, and the bed was comfortable. Monkeys would come right into the kitchen so we had to keep food hidden and stored in fridge. Gabriel was really lovely and welcoming so thank you for being so helpful. Reiko the cat was lovely too. The only thing I’d complain about is there was absence of coat hooks. Please put this up in bathroom / dorm rooms, it would make things a lot easier. Thank you Corcovado jungle hostel. I’d visit ag...
The staff at this hostel we’re incredible - hard working, kind, and super helpful. It made my stay! Thank you Corcovado Jungle Hostel!
Amazing hostel. Staff super helpful and friendly, great location and amazing wildlife right at the hostel. The boat ride from Sierpe is beautiful. The food is really good and a reasonable price.
Easily the best hostel I’ve stayed in location wise! It’s a 4km walk to drake bay, so the beaches are super quiet and trails are full of wildlife. Facilities are a little basic (power and water turned off a few times) and unclean (we had a bat fly into the kitchen one night) but this is understandable with its remote location
I loved forest camping, with beach sounds all night, howler monkeys howling in the mornings, blue morphos while brushing teeth. But the place needs to be more user-friendly. The road ends, but then there are no signs to guide guests to reception or to actual hostel area. Checkin/out is inefficient. The water gets turned off at night, so there’s no flushing the toilet or running the water filter, which didn’t work for 1/3 days we were there. Chilled water refilled in the morning, then runs o...
Beautiful location , helpful staff. Highly recommend
Location is amazing, staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast was not included but is tasty. Dorms are basic, water went out our first night, laundry was very expensive at $30.
Très bien!
I really liked my stay in this Hostel. The room was clean, the staff was very very nice and it was so very easy and comfortable to book tours with them. Also the beach in front of the Hostel is beautiful and the forest is right next to ghe kitchen (during my breakfasts I could see a coati, monkeys, agouti and a funny kind of bird. The only thin I didn't like was the kitchen. It was a bit dirty and full of bugs and there where not a lot of cooking supplies. But all in all a great hostel.
I loved my stay here. The location is priceless! Directly between some of Costa Rica‘s most pristine beaches. I ended up staying in a tent and it was lovely to hear the waves at night and practice yoga on the little deck in the morning. The owner is a wonderful person and the rest of the staff is nice too. They really do their best to keep this place clean but of course that’s not easy in this location. I cooked my own food and I liked the kitchen. If you love nature, this is the place to go
Absolutely stunning location, you can't get much more of an authentic rainforest accommodation than this - you really feel like you're in the thick of it. Gabriel, Yesica and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - they cook good food too! Great place to explore the area or even chill in the hammock and watch the world go by! It's my second time staying here and it won't be my last. I could easily have spent my whole trip here!
Sadly, I have to agree with the bad reviews. Even for 12$ not good value for money. First of all, the 6 bed dorm doesn't even exist. It's a 10 bed dorm - guess they put "6 bed" bc they know once you're there it's hard to get away. No mosquito nets, no place to put or hang your stuff. The few lockers that exist are so rusty you can hardly open or close them. Same goes for some of the bathroom locks. No soap, neither at bathroom sinks nor in the kitchen. Too few clotheslines. Very unfriendly staff
