Thank you Nina-san for your hospitality! This is the place to choose if you want to feel welcomed.
I loved this guesthouse. Nina was absolutely incredible. She arranged activities at night were we learned calligraphy and origami. It is such a cute and comfortable place and I'll definitely go back if I ever find myself in the area again. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. It is one of the best places I've ever stayed!
C’est l’endroit où il faut être si vous comptez rester à Kanazawa. Une vrai merveille ! Une attention particulière vous ai donné et l’endroit est vraiment magique :)
This is the nicest guesthouse I have ever stayed in! Nina san was the most lovely friendly host! Nina gave me the best recommendations for food and places to go in Kanazawa! Each evening we could sit down and have a cup of tea together with all the guests and learn about Japanese calligraphy, origami, and speak to other travelers to the city. The room was so cozy with a nice clean bathroom and great kitchen too. In a perfect area close to the station and attractions! Must stay here!
One of my favourite places I have ever stayed in (and I’ve stayed in over 100 hostels). Pongyi has such a beautiful story and the hosts are so unbelievably kind, generous and welcoming. The rooms and communal spaces are so cosy and feel like home. You can walk to everywhere in Kanazawa and it’s a short walk from the station. Various social activities were hosted whilst I was there such as origami, a cooking class and kangi writing which made the stay particularly special. Thank you Pongyi!!
This hostel felt more like a community and a home as it was small, but the owners encouraged us to talk to one another. It was truly an amazing experience that I will never forget. I stayed longer in Kanazawa due to their hospitality and fell in love with the small city and its rich history.
Niina is a wonderful host, she creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We really enjoyed the activity about name writing, it was a really nice way to learn about Japanese language. As for the guesthouse, the place is really unique, clean and well maintained. A must-stay, highly recommended.
Without a doubt the best hostel/guesthouse I’ve ever stayed in. Super clean, great location, excellent atmosphere and a lovely way to meet other travellers. Nina (our host) was so incredibly welcoming and we were treated like old friends! She taught us lots about Japanese culture and we will forever be grateful for the time we spent there. We will absolutely be back!
Guesthouse mit viel Liebe War allerdings sehr hellhörig, da es nur vorhänge und keine Türen gab
Excellent hostel, Niina and Masaki were very kind hosts. The hostel was very cozy, beds were comfy, and the rooms were clean. Would highly recommend.
I had an amazing stay at Guest House Pongyi! The location is convenient and the house is full of character. Nina and Masaki are some of the most kind, thoughtful, and welcoming people I have ever met! I would highly recommend it!
Amazing hostel. The nicest people you will ever meet!!
Great stay at guest house Pongyi. Nina is the most amazing and friendly host who has such positive energy. She shared some interesting details about Japanese culture, tradition and history. Would definitely recommend!
My brother and my stay Guest House Pongyi in Kanazawa was great! Nina was an amazing host and had a lot of knowledge/recommendations for us during our stay. Masaki was super nice and welcoming as well. I really enjoyed the evening activities! I would highly recommend staying here if your are visiting Kanazawa.
I had a great time at Pongyi! It's a wonderful guesthouse, which is very cozy. The atmosphere welcoming. I especially enjoyed the cooking activity we did one evening, as well as making Origami together!
House was very clean and Masaki-san and Nina-san were very friendly. They have us very nice takoyaki dinner experience and we had super nice conversations!
Lovely and friendly
The overall rating is definitely a 10! The owners are so nice! We got personal recommendations, we had a kanji-writing night and one night I was one of the only guest staying. I made dinner with the owner and she taught me how to make the Japanese omelette and onigiri. I really liked staying here and I would definitely recommend and come back!
Such a clean, homely property with nightly activities. Did the Japanese name activity which the owner joined which was super interesting. Main drawback was how quiet the hostel was, I had a room to myself both nights I was there so it’s not ideal to meet people
