Chelsea International Hostel

Amazing location, amazing value. Definitely bare bones but perfect for those of us who simply want a comfortable night’s sleep and a clean place to wash up. I chose a private single and loved the Chelsea location and the privacy.

Great place to stay! Clean well maintained and best location. Worth every penny!

Doors for rooms aren’t an automatically lock, so if someone in your room doesn’t lock it, all your things can be taken and people staying at the hostel can enter. Ants all in the room and in the bed, outlets aren’t secure to the wall and just consistently drop your charger plug due to that. No privacy in rooms or seperate lamps so it’s either full light or no light. otherwise location is good, trains are a 4 minute walk.

Had a really wonderful stay. The room was very clean, staff were super kind and accommodating. Location was perfect, super close to everything you need.

Okay if you just want a bed. very small room , tiny tiny. not really a hostel more so a 1* hotel, no vibe if youre solo wanting to make friends. I was put into the other building. Location Is good to walk to stuff; staff clean daily. front desk didnt do much to welcome or instruct me on anything; felt safe enough but not a hostel experience at all. would rather pay a bit more and get a nicer hotel as was pretty expensive for what it was. I was really warm which was good as it was freezing

This is around my 4th or fifth time staying at the hostel it's a great location the police station is across the street so overall it's safe great restaurants around the hostel. Hands down it is clean the cleaning people and check in staff are so welcoming. restrooms and showers overall are clean the one thing I would say is needs new blinds Would recommend train is 3 blocks aeay on 23rd st or 2 blocks on 18th st very convenient took about 1 hour to get to LGA from the E train. Great stay

One of my worst hostel experiences to date. Its a great location and the property has so much potential but it feels like they want the have a low touch maximise profit setup. I stayed in a single room and my matrass fell like it was collapsing where you feel the springs. Its very basic which is ok but it feels a bit like a prison.

The location is great! You can reach a lot of sights and restaurants by foot and it is well connected to the metro

It was a decent room in a good area, and it did the job for my trip. However, there is no air conditioning available in April, and the window did not open. It was 88 degrees F on the day I arrived and unbearably hot and stuffy in the room.

We stayed for one week. Nice hostel. Would definetly recommend.

don’t stay here in the spring when the temperatures get up to 90 degrees fahrenheit. they don’t install AC units in the rooms until the end of may, and the staff were rude when i asked about it.

I've used this hostel a handful of times in my previous NYC trips. The location is ideal. It's in a "quiet" enough neighborhood with many local shops to look at as well as restaurants to try. The High Line is nearby & a shortcut to reach the Hudson Yards. The staff is friendly & helpful. Now let's be real here. This is a barebones stay. The private room I used is small, has a bed, sink, & locker. Bathroom & showers are communal. It works for me & I would come back again.

I was in a two bed room separated a few buildings down from reception. Bathroom was shared and outside the room. Very old building but ok. Kitchen facilities were ok. It’s very convenient to Penn Station.

1st time staying at hostel so everything was new, location was good, room is small but expected, when I checked in on evening of Apr 3,receptionist was very courteous, helpful n friendly. Sadly, there were just too many checkout reminding emails, employee knocking on my door interrupting work, then rude n unhelpful man at reception desk who took the key, all positive thoughts on Chelsea international hostel was erased by that man, had to be tbe owner by the way he was acting.

This was my third time staying here and I’ve always enjoyed my experience here. Great price, great location, great staff.

Nice location. Clean bathrooms. Love sink in room. So convenient. Mattress was nice. Slightly firm. Sheets very old, so dingy. Yuk. Please purchase new sheet sets. Pillow needs replacing, too. Not sure blanket was recently washed. :( 2 out of 3 desk attendants were nice. Did not use kitchen/dining area, nor courtyard. Would stay in private room again. Good value. Would have scored higher if bedding matched cleanliness of the bathroom.

The location of the hostel is in the middle of local restaurants and markets. I would say that it lacks guests to interact with one another, due to there being no common room “living room.”
