Overall, the property was clean, well maintained, easy to find, and in a safe area. However, there were ongoing water pressure issues due to limited supply in the tank, which has been a problem for months. We were instructed to conserve water, even avoiding flushing the toilet. As they say at Porte Hostel: “If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down.”. While such issues can happen, guests should be informed in advance, or occupancy should match the facility’s capacity.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hostel. The hosts are kind and always ready to help with anything you need. The place is not brand new, but it's a very cheap place, so it's ok: cleaning and comfort present! I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a low budget "real jamaican" experience.

Way too hot in the rooms with one plate sized fan on the wall and one pedestal fan. Would not stay here during peak heat season. Location is ok though

The hostel was in a disgusting state. I arrived late at night and left quickly in the morning (I was supposed to stay 3 nights). The pictures are old. It was so dirty the smell was unbearable. Don’t stay here.

Stefano the owner is always available for questions, gives good recommendations/tips and wants guests to be happy. You need to take a taxi for about 25 mins to get there, which they can arrange, but it’s walking distance to two really nice beaches and a small supermarket. I prefer Winnifred because the people on the beach are nicer, and the walk is really nice, but if you have time do both. The kitchen could do with more utensils but totally usable! Everything was clean and comfortable.

Ich hatte eine wundervolle Zeit im Porty Hostel. Die Atmosphäre ist super, das Personal unglaublich lieb und freundlich und dadurch, dass es sehr klein ist, ist es sehr familiär. Die Küche könnte definitiv besser ausgestattet und deutlich sauberer sein. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, perfekt zum Abschalten + der Balkon ist toll.

Wonderful place to be! Cheap, clean and comfortable hostel with everything I needed in a quiet safe neighborhood. There are two beautiful beaches a few minutes walking distance away and also a little supermarket around the corner. Stefano, the owner, gave me great recommendations for sightseeing and helped me with all my belongings. Thank you very much!

Booked 1 week, extended by another week and then volunteered for another 3. I clearly loved my stay at Porty. The vibe was unmatched as Stefano went above and beyond for his guests constantly. Super friendly, super helpful and full of recommendations. His volunteer was just accommodating and kept the place spotless. Awesome stay and will be back in winter!

The hostel is about 10 minutes walk from the two most beautiful and lively beaches in the area. I stayed for a week and then returned two more times, before having to leave Jamaica, because Portland is too beautiful and fun!! And the dedication with which Stefano takes care of his hostel and guests, in my experience as a traveller, is unmatched! I will definitely come back..

Very good place run by a fantastic host, super available and reliable. The hostel is very close to many local attractions and it's perfect for chilling and meeting new people. I strongly reccomend it!

Porty Hostel and the owner, Stefano, are just great. Stefano makes it very comfortable. He gives good reviews on where to go, but not only this, the cleanliness of the hostel and the atmosphere is so great. I recommend it if you want to meet people, chill out on the balcony, have a swin and relax.

Reasonably priced, staff was very kind and had a lot of recommendations to offer.

Bel hostel propre et convivial. L'hôte était vraiment sympathique et nous a renseigné sur les activités à faire dans les alentours. Par contre, il faisait extrêmement chaud dans la chambre et nous n'avions qu'un ventilateur. De plus, les fumeurs peuvent fumer sur la terrasse et comme celle-ci se trouvait juste à côté de notre chambre, nous avons dû endurer l'odeur de tabac et de cannabis à longueur de journée.

Great location within walking distance of all nearby attractions. Hostel was clean and comfortable , definitely recommend
