Te Nikau Retreat

+ Good location as near to several sites worth visiting. Nestled within a rainforest which was really attractive.

- Exceptionally poor cleanliness. We stayed for 3 days & never witness any staff cleaning neither private rooms nor facilities. All domestic duties performed by volunteers that are remunerated with free accomodation. This does not work as the place is dirty & in desperate need of a thorough clean. Communal areas were never cleaned over the 3 days of our stay, including the kitchen! It is more suited for back-packers, but they would find it dirty too!! It is exceptionally poor value-for-money. Other cottages may have been different, but the Ruru Lodge Double Room with Privater Bathroom was a big mistake for us and did not match the reviews we read from previous guests.

- Het dak was lek terwijl het stormde, dus toen midden in de nacht mijn buurman opeens met pannen naast mijn bed stond keek ik wel even raar op.

+ The location is 100/10. I recommend this place. I would stay again.

+ I was staying in a shared accommodation and the facilities were really unclean, the shower was dirty and during the evening there was a leak from the roof!

+ Très bel emplacement, au calme, proche de l'océan. Chambres confortables.

+ The location is great, close to the ocean and walks.

- The room needs more attention, the linen and towels were very average

+ The surroundings are beautiful, I loved my own cottage in the forest surrounded by birds. It was great value also

- Mucho ruido toda la noche por no buena insonorización del techo. Llovió la noche entera

+ Stunning location. Kitchen was adequate for an overnight stay.

- The room was musty damp and the odour was very unpleasant. Woke up with a sore throat.

- Dreckige und kalte Zimmer, tote Insekten auf dem Boden und Handtücher der vorherigen Gäste im Zimmer!!! Küche ohne geschirrhandtücher
