Base Camp Hostel

Good Hostel In my humble Opinion, if I may say, the only little downside would be the included dinner, don't get me wrong ,it is a HUGE asset, but when you are a hard-worker and you can only serve yourself once, some people may find that frustrating... Despite this, the breakfast is awesome and staff sweet as well.

Clean hostel in a good spot, however not very good social areas compered to other hostels in the gold coast. A lot of the guests were older.

Checking in and out staff were helpful! The location is good close to the markets and walking distance to pubs and restaurants. However it was 90% long term stays which having not known this made our stay uncomfortable as in the shared dorm room other guests would sleep day and night. This was a problem as the room was tiny and not even a window for daylight. Would recommend this hostel, staff are super friendly and helpful! I only tried the free dinner, but it was a tasty Asian dish and there was enough to fill you up. Kitchen and bathrooms cleaned regularly. Room was spacious but very dark as there was only a very small window. It’s a good location in the city. Hostel was fairly quiet, maybe not the most sociable but I only stopped for a couple of nights so I was happy it was quiet.

Extremely dirty, showers had mould all over them. Housekeeper came, flushed the toilet then left did not actually do any cleaning.

Very simple breakfast, similar to other hostels in the same category. Unfortunately, cleaning is done quite poorly, the kitchen towels are always wet and disgusting, the food is not very varied, and you often see people in the hostel who no longer stay there but still come in and eat. Apart from that, it was okay, good location, but compared to other hostels in Adelaide offering the same, I found it a bit overpriced for what you get.

I don't know why this hostel is so highly rated. I found it to be dingy and uncomfortable. My bunk room was dark and stuffy, with the only window being completely blocked by the solid back wall of the bunk beds. The only blanket provided was a small thin throw blanket that was super static-y. Lots of noise from the courtyard and from beds creaking at night. Ensuite bathroom was very moldy and had no counter space to put toiletries while getting ready. Common space was not very comfortable. Kitch...

Staff were great, location is central but quiet. Free meals are definitely appreciated on a backpackers budget. Would stay again.

Didn’t like this place at all, didn’t even stay one night and left. The rooms looked bigger online, in person it was very squashed and dark. There was a mix of bags and clothes all over the floor really messy and dirty and it didn’t help that the other guests inside were questionable. Also an ensuite bathroom connected to the already small room so you have to wake up everyone to shower. Overall would not recommend.

one of my favourite hostels ever, feels like a big family and it's so easy to meet fellow travellers:) Also free breakfast & dinner every day!

not sure how this hostel rated so high. prices increased for fringe and def not worth it

Loved the vibe. Great beds with curtains. Would stay again.

Nice bed and nice meals

Not a lot of showers. Staff are great. Some of the people staying there, especially in my room, did not make me feel very safe.
