Very disappointing experience at the Blue Lagoon Resort due to how a serious incident was handled. A girl in our group was secretly photographed in the shower. Management’s response was misleading. They claimed it was resolved, which was not true. Management focused on protecting their image rather than the guest. This raised serious safety concerns for us. Young women should stay cautious.
Only a handful of activities to do and I think staff involvement would’ve made it more special !! The only thing is the dorm showers are not clean at all ://
the best place i had the chance to stay in the Yasawa islands! the vibe, the people, the food, their beaches and their reef - i loved every single thing!
Honestly, one of the best place i have ever been to. The location was amazing, the island is magical with incredible beaches where you can see lots of animals and corals. The staff has been so lovely and helpful, always smiling, trying to make our experience there the best. The dorms were really clean and it never felt to warm in there. I reaaaally enjoyed all the activities there (i was scared to be bored on an island) : they offer so many activities, i LOVED it and i would go again and again.
World apart from ecolodge stayed in north Yasawa Islands but double the price. You get what you pay for.I would still do a lesser lodge again first and save Barefoot for the end.Very well organized and excellent snorkel off shore.
Our stay at Barefoot Manta was amazing! The staff was incredible, the food was good, and the marine talks were my fav! The free activities were great, snorkelling was pristine, and seeing mantas was the cherry on top. The only somewhat negative thing for us was the laundry service. We didn’t realize it would take two days for us to get our clothes back, and when we did receive our clothes, several items smelled musty and not pleasant. Other than that, everything was overwhelmingly positive!
Beautiful spot, amazing staff. Dorms were clean and comfortable. Snorkel gear was free, and the snorkelling off the beach was incredible. Dive staff were kind and knowledgeable, restaurant, housekeeping, and other staff were super friendly. Plenty of organized free activities to go alongside all the great paid diving, tours, etc. The hike is super short and has a very rewarding view. Specific shout outs to Dee, Harry, Stewart and Faith for going above and beyond :)
Beautiful resort with lots to do, free activities and added activities daily. Free includes kayaking, snorkeling, volleyball and classes to learn to dance, play the ukulele and learn about their cooking methods.
Snorkeling with Manta rays was just amazing 🤩 The accommodation is basic but still nice. Staff are full of Fijian hospitality and smiles. Marine talks, guided Snorkeling, kayaking and hiking were all great free activities. Food was varied and tasty.
Very rustic compared to the other resorts for around the same cost! 3 beaches that were okay (not fabulous), no pool and the dorms are like glamping with a fan. The activities you can do are great! My issue with the resort was the service around meals, it was a disaster every single time, you had to nag the staff to ask where your dinner / lunch was and they ask for your room number multiple times! The sun lounger area half of the beds didn't have a cover. Towel for dorm people was a fight.
I loved my stay here. It is impossible not to be happy when staying here - everyone is so friendly, staff members will remember your name, Robin the resort manager is hilarious and the marine biologists are excellent and very knowledgable. I was so happy to see manta rays here and it was easy to make friends in the shared dorm. There are lots of activities to do that run throughout the day so you can’t get bored.
Wonderful place overall, especially if you enjoy snorkeling or diving. The reef around the resort is one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen. Plenty of free and charged activities during the day, great staff, always nice and helpful. And the manta rays in the channel right in front of the resort. However, food isn’t the best and portions are pretty light, especially for vegetarians. And safety in the dorms isn’t the best either, no lockers directly in the dorms and all my cash was stolen! I absolutely loved it at Barefoot Manta, everyone was so nice and welcoming 🥰
For the price of the food, I found it better in other resorts, more quantity and free buffet (Barefoot Kuata). The bathrooms and showers are dirty, and I missed lights in the pads to the dorms and bathrooms, guests had to use flashlights. Not having a swimming pool was a little bit dissapointing. Snorkel is good, but due to low tide, everyday the free guided snorkel of 12:00 was cancelled and we had to join the one at 16:00, which has less light. Nevertheless, good place to stay a few days.
BEDBUGS!! Rooms have bed bugs, they 'treat' them but move people from bed bug room to other room so the issue persists. Staff were super rude and threatening when we complained about bed bugs. Another group turned up at midnight having also found them. It's run by a South African and he is so rude. I showed him my bed bug bites and without looking he told me they weren't from bed bugs. Not taking it seriously is the reason they don't go away. Unbelievably awful experience, avoid at all cost!
10/10 resort, best island best resort best staff, you won’t be bored, you will regret if you don’t go
An absolute dream place!
It’s a little resort so don’t go expecting fancy things but everything they do is amazing. Buffet breakfast and lunch and then 3 course dinner which is honestly so tasty. Resort is centered around water activities so there’s free kayaks and paddle boards to hire as well as snorkels to borrow. Would return in a heart beat
Went to Octopus and Manta. Manta was by far my favourite because it had a more familiar atmosphere and a family vibe. In other words less resorty. Staff super friendly, food was good but not excellent for the price of the meal plan. Shark dive is a must do ! Three different beaches to choose from, great sunset spot. It is the best snorkelling in the Yasawas since it’s in a protected marine zone. If I had to choose one it would be that one
