TO BE AVOIDED! It was the worst! Everything is old and not maintained inside the rooms. Parts of the window are missing or they don’t close. One night I had a huge spider in my room, the other night I found out a rat is living inside the bed. I had to ask to have fish or papaya or a coconut although they were right there… I had no warm water so I had to heat it and wash out of a bucket. Internet costs:) I wanted to join a friend at snorkeling (just to watch) and they asked for money. TERRIB...
The people are what make the stay at Naqalia lodge so special! You will feel part of the family by the end, I miss everyone already. There is plenty of fresh food, great snorkelling from the beach, lots of space to relax and incredible views from the summit walk. A proper Fiji experience in paradise!
Our time at Naqalia was truly incredible. The staff was fantastic. By the end of the stay they felt like family and it was very sad to leave. They invited us to experience their culture by taking us fishing, to church, singing and dancing with us after dinner each night, playing cards with us and more. We felt we experienced Fiji not just the touristy activities. All the activities they have are awesome and the staff truly do their best to make your stay amazing. The food is also great.
No words can describe how welcoming and warm-hearted this place is. Right after picking me up from the flyer i got some coffee and sweets to settle in. Remote and less crowded, chicken running around, comfy beds (mosquito net) and Oni’s food is just finger licking good. The best in the whole Yasawa’s and heaps. You also have a beautiful house reef to snorkel right off the beach and they’re happy to organise any activity for you like Kuata‘s bull shark dive. It literally became a home awa...
Danke :))
I spent 4 days at Naqalia Lounge and it was so beautiful there! All the employees there are so nice and warm to you. I did snorkeling with reef sharks and bull shark diving there, both of which were organized for me by the hostel. The corals right there on the doorstep are incredibly beautiful and very colorful and vibrant. The food was always very tasty and extremely varied. Absolute recommendation to stay there for an authentic Fiji stay.
A great choice for something between a home stay and a resort, in their words: “a family beach house” :) Owned by a local family and run by a welcoming staff, you feel like a part of the family. The beach is beautiful, there is a great spot for snorkeling with colorful corals. There are paid activities (village visits, hiking) to do which we really enjoyed. The food was delicious home cooked style, and there was SO MUCH food, you will never be hungry.
Amazing staff. Great place to stay.
Probably my favorite hostel i’ve ever stayed at. Staff are so amazingly nice, if you want to do any activities they will take you, they have plenty for you to choose from. Very clean, and serves homemade fijian food!!
DO NOT OVERLOOK this accomodation! From When we arrived at Naqalia Lodge we were told that during our stay, we are family - and we were treated as such! The family that runs this lodge is so kind and filled with laughter. We were greeted by music, welcomed at dinner by music and farewelled by music. However, compared to all the other places I stayed in the Yasawa Islands, it was the first time everybody singing was engaged & felt the music. I wish I could write more! You have to stay here!
Amazing family run resort where the staff treat you as one of the family. Great value for money if you're looking for an authentic Fijian island experience without the frills and trappings of western development. Great food and snorkelling with well priced optional day trips and excursions. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get off grid for a few days!
Friendly staff and decent food, however not a lot of fresh seafood despite there being lots of fishing going on on the beach everyday. Quite isolated as require a paid guide / boat trip to even leave the beach / lodge area. Beach had a lot of rock unlike other places we had been not very appealing to swim in. The dorm had a hornets nest above the door, cockroaches. Felt like a workshop as there were materials and rubbish around the beach area, we woke up one morning to a rubbish fire right n...
This place really was amazing! A much more homely feel than any other resort and you truly do feel like a member of the family! My name was learned by all staff instantly and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever been to a place with such good hospitality before! Vinaka!
