Afei Surf Hostel

my partner and I loved staying here! check in and out was easy our room was beautiful and clean. There was a great space inside and outside to sit and socialize with other guests. We took a surf lesson with Afei, which was very fun. He has so much knowledge and i appreciated the tike he spent on shkre tesching us positioning on the board, and in the water choosing our waves, when to stand and giving feedback after each run. I would stay here again!

Super great staff! Wish I had used them more for booking activities, and just lovely to chat with. Solid breakfast for $250 NTD. Awesome location for ocean access. Definitely could see it carrying a vibe when it’s busier, but there were only 2 other people there during my weekday stay in the off season. Only thing I would suggest is changing the bed curtains. The velvet fabric had big strands of dust clinging to it, but the bed, linens, and bathroom felt clean. Nice lockbox for personal items.

Fav place to stay in Kenting. Lovely, cozy spot. Staff is awesome and Afei is such a cool dude. Be sure to take the surf lessons!

Afei and the surf hostel team were one of my favorite stays, felt like home!

Staff is undeniably wonderful. They are a redeeming factor and the restaurant had good food. The amenities are lacking. Only one shower for the entire hostel. Micro fish market for the restaurant upon entrance. Beds were smaller than a twin. No window in dorm room.

Dusty old rooms. Ants and bugs everywhere. Room seems to be falling apart in places. However, location is great and staff is chill and kind.

Great hostel. I stayed here for 3 nights and learned surfing from Afei. Althougt the price was a bit high for the surfing lessons, the quality was really good, on day 3 I got drone fotage of my surfing and a film session with Afei where we analyzed my technique which was really professional. The biggest con is the location, there are one good cheap noodle restaurant and 7 eleven within walking distance, but the rest are more turisty and expensive restaurants, unless you take the buss (15 min).

Had a wonderful stay in Afei Hostel, really great atmosphere there. The beach and the bus stop are super close. Surf lessons are not cheap but if you can surf on your own then the price is fine. 7/11 is 7 minutes walking distance. The cleaning is not that great but I've seen worse, absolutely recommend for a 2/3 nights stay.

Wir waren 2 Nächte im Afei Hostel. Da unser Zimmer doppelt vergeben wurde mussten wir die erste Nacht in einem anderen Raum übernachten und nach der Nacht das Zimmer wechseln. Das Hostel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Im ersten Raum kam ein Teil der Decke runter und alles andere war sehr dreckig. Überall war Staub und von den Vormietern lag noch Strohhalmpapier auf dem Boden. Im zweiten Raum war vor dem Eingang zum Badezimmer ein Loch im Boden, in dem Wasser stand.

Nice hostel as the location is right there next to the surf beach. The dorm room is quite tight but does the job. Only con was the shower was tied into a bathroom that is shared amongst the restaurant which was a bit strange. The staff are super friendly and nice. Beware there is not too many cheap eats around so just be prepared to eat convenience food or pay a little bit more (unless you have wheels!)

Overall place is ok to stay at. Location is very close to the beach. Staff is nice! But the dorm is extremely small and not very clean. There is no window and the air gets very bad in there during the night. Only one toilet and shower for the dorm which you share with the restaurant downstairs. So you have to walk halfway through the kitchen if you want to use the bathroom. Next to the bathroom lays the fish on ice from the restaurant and the fishy smell is kind of everywhere there.

Awesome hostel with great staff! I stayed 4 nights to explore the south of Taiwan. However, I only surfed and had beers at the hostel because that was just the best thing to do. If you want to learn surfing I highly recommend Afei's lessons. The lessons are professional and gave me a lot of progress in my surfing skills.

Super great location close to the beach and the bus stop! The staff were super friendly and helpful and Afei was really great! Took some personal class and he really helped me! Would go there again:)!

Great surf vibe hostel. Good bar downstairs with great breakfast. Rentals and lessons are cheap and right at the beach

Had the most amazing time at Afei ! Would recommand 100%. Incredible spot, nicest team ever, great food !!! Hoping to go back there as soon as I can :)
