Really good and quiet place, perfect to chill and take energy before the carnaval. A beach accessible within 5 minutes by walk, and really nice breakfast
The building complex is beautiful, immersed in the jungle and very quiet. I liked the place but the energy of the place was a bit off and it was far from the main village area.
Great stay ! Met nice people and very peaceful.
A paradise! Thank you to all the staff that made my stay so good! A perfect place to disconnect and relax, the areas are incredible, I could stay for a month easily! Surrounded by nature, breakfast is home made and amazing, I recommend! I was lucky to be on my own in the dorm, bathroom is clean, kitchen is convenient. Enjoy the luminescence at Praia do Alto and the amazing sunset at Itamambuca. Overall I could connect with the volunteers even if we don’t speak the same language! ♥️
Amazing!!! If you want some time to reconnect with nature and relax this place is perfect. The facilities are kept so clean and the dorm has the best AC I’ve had in Brazil. Beds are comfy, common spaces are great. Small market 5 minute walk away. Most likely you’ll have to cook (not a ton of restaurants nearby). It is a 5 minute SWIM not walk to the beach because the river water levels are often high or boat for less than a euro. Bioluminescent plankton are at a beach 30 min walk away!
I suggest not arriving in the dark as it's very disorienting and the owner seemed out of it. The staff could be more welcoming and informative as only one volunteer spoke to me the entire time I was there. There was a sickly dog that wouldve been good to know if it was being looked after. Otherwise I was pleasently surprised at how clean and organised it was, the space is large and lovely and the toilets/bins seemed to be cleaned regularly. There was coffee on offer which is always a bonus
o café da manhã é muito bom.... os acessos aos ambientes poderiam ser melhores, pois na chuva acabam acumulando materiais
There are a couple of things that I didn't love and also I didn't really have any hostel vibe. The place it's built privates but it's absolutely great. You might like the vibe or not but if you want to chill and reconnect for a few days this place does the job. Also insane breakfast and some beautiful people as volunteers (I guess they might change quickly tho).
This is the best hostel I have stayed at, an amazing jungle retreat, complete with a hot tub, comfortable & clean accommodation and very helpful and friendly staff. Spread out among the trees, you really escape to the jungle. The food provided at breakfast and dinner (for a small added cost) was some of the best food we have eaten in Brazil, and all vegetarian. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate travel and dietary needs. The hostel is also a 5 min walk to amazing Itamambuca beach!
Super cool property, felt so secluded/like you’re camping in the jungle but still close to the beach, town, and restaurants. The staff were super nice. Unfortunately I was there during the low tourism season so I didn’t meet many people there like i hoped, but i bet the hostel was amazing with more people/action!
This is a hidden gem. If you want to escape the city life this place is for you. The hostel staff is like a family and you become an addition to the community. Therefore I highly recommend extending your stay as I only stayed here 3 days and didn’t have the opportunity to fully connect. Nevertheless, the hostel staff were always speedy and happy to help on any issues. The hostel only serves breakfast, so lunch and dinner need to be eaten at simple but delicious local restaurants.
Simple life and their community are the nicest we have experienced during our entire trip. The facilities are wonderful, people are open and welcoming, the included breakfast is AMAZING, and the people living there are really inspiring and caring. We slept in a double tent and it was so comfortable. The nature surrounding was so beautiful. LOVED everything thank you so much! Bellezzaaaaa
I looooved this place! You spend your day in the middle of the jungle, listening to the birds, and enjoying the peace of nature. To get to beach, you will have to cross a river, so be prepared for that. Breakfast is included and you can book lunch and dinner additionally. The food is organic and mostly vegan. The hostel is one of the cleanest I've ever been to. Everybody is very kind, responsible and conscious and I was welcome like being part of the family! Hoping to be back soon!
