It’s a nice place but a little pricey. Good for 1-2 nights max.
Nice hostel! Good beds with curtains and AC. Cute garden area. Breakfast is good too. I did have 2 fighting cats in my dorm, no clue how they got there :-)
Cute little place with comfy beds
Good place, good location, can be cleaner and the air conditioner can be better. But overall a good place to stay.
Great laidback hostel at a convenient spot in town (although when staying anywhere on the island you will be close as a walk around the isla is only 15 minutes or so). Some showers have great pressure and warmth (even though some don't, I kept using the last regular one, the big one on the end didn't seem as nice). Staff is great, towels and laundry for reasonable prices. Minor point for the AC being off during the day, which makes the rooms quite hot when returning after a day of sightseeing.
I loved here! The lockers are proper lockers for big pack packs, very private bunks with proper curtains and lights, clean, very kind and local people attending the hostel. It wasn’t a social hostel but I enjoyed the food and the chill spaces they have.
Great location. We had spacious lockers to store our stuff. AC was definitely welcome. Free breakfast was included! Two lovely cats, especially the grey one was very cuddly. Not the most social hostel I would say.
Really enjoyed my stay at Hostal Macarena in Flores. Everything was good overall and the staff were very helpful. Great coffee and cookies. It was lively enough that meeting and connecting with other travellers felt easy. I had the takeaway breakfast both days—nothing special, but it did the job. Location is great, although Flores island is so small you can’t really go wrong wherever you stay.
I found a live cockroach in the room and when I told the staff they told me that we could have entered it in one of our tours outside the hostel. This doesn't make any sense and I found it disrespectful since it's taking away all the responsibility and giving it to someone else.
The staff were extremely helpful and helped me book tours to Tikal and Yaxha when I arrived even before I could check in. They also have breakfast to go if you have an early morning tour. The common areas are nice, beds are comfortable and rooms are clean
Great hostel in a perfect location on the island. Giving them extra marks for being so kind and understanding about the nightmare bus journey that I endured to get to Flores. Would be nice to have a few more sinks and mirrors for those needing the shared bathrooms, but that aside, it seems like the best option in town.
They have big lockers in the rooms along with locked doors into each room plus someone at the front desk. This place was great overall. Awesome location, good people. Was relatively quite too.
The hostel has nice staff and a super cute cafe next door with really good drinks. The kitchen was being renovated therefore no idea how it usually is. Beds comfy, rooms have everything you need. Bathrooms shared (depending on what room type you book) and warm water. All in all a good hostel but not much of a chill out hangout vibe even though they haves cute little garden and some hammocks on the roof mini terrace. Recommend comparing prices of tours.
Property is good value for money, although a fan on in the rooms during the day would be great. staff are excellent as is the cafe it is attached too!
Very comfortable stay. Nice relaxed environment. Not the most social hostel in the area but near other social areas and hostels so it’s a perfect balance. The coffee shop connected is amazing!!
Nice and clean hostel. Free breakfast and they even prepare a lunch box if you are leaving early.
Muy limpio todo y muy agradable el hostal. los gatos eran super lindos y cariñosos ♥️
Really nice hostel to keep it calm but still talk to some people. The don’t have activities to get to know others, though they can book you tours and shuttles. The free breakfast is really good, the rooms are nice as well and bathrooms are decent and clean. I liked the little garden to sit there in the morning and they have really sweet cats. I can recommend staying here to have a nice time
The social areas are very nice and accommodating for lots of people, and overall, I got what I paid for. However, the receptionists acted like it was a burden whenever I asked questions or wanted to sign up for tours. The doors to the rooms didn’t automatically lock, so most people left it unlocked, and it was very easy to get in and out of the main entrance. There was almost no water pressure in the bathroom sink and shower, and the dorm room was very hot at night.
