Wonderful place to stay at the lake if you want to relax. Justin and his family made me feel like home. I can highly recommend you to stay with them for a few nights 😃

Superrr nice hostel! About an hour from Flores but you can take the chicken bus for 18Q. Right on the lake with the most beautiful views. They have breakfast and dinner if you don’t feel like cooking. The owner is a really great guy and they have a cute and friendly dog.

Booked this after reading so many positive reviews and it didn’t disappoint! The lake is so beautiful and clear here, and the hotel is an ideal spot to relax and take it all in for a few days. The family are really lovely, and helped us organise transport to Tikal with some other guests for 125 quetzales each. Rooms are spacious and cleaned every day, and the guest kitchen was ideal - remember to bring some food from Flores. Really good value for money!

Justin and the Gucumatz team was very accommodating and friendly. We were delayed in arriving and the property was able to push back our reservation one night without extra charge. The property itself was as beautiful as advertised with plenty to do. They were also more than happy to arrange transportation to Tikal, Flores or your next location (Belize for us). We brought our own food but delicious dinner was available for a fee. We would stay here again but was a bit out of the way.

Exceptional property with exceptional value. Very friendly and helpful staff. Although it’s a bit out of town, its lake front location and grounds are spectacular.

Couldn’t be more excited to review this place. We stayed for a few days and this place, other than the benefit of an extraordinarily beautiful waterfront and hillside, is run by an extremely kind and helpful family. Feels like you’re staying in their home with them, and we couldn’t recommend it more. Decent WiFi if you’re trying to work. Only downside was the kitchen to cook in wasn’t the best, but a minor downside to an overall great experience.

The best hostel we have been staying in so far !! We were supposed to stay 2 nights to rest and we ended up 4 nights because we didn't want to leave. The rooms are so cosy and comfortable. the place is calm and full of beautiful life like Monkees and colibris. you can swim in the lake and there is plenty of space to enjoy the beautiful sunset. Breakfast was affordable and nice. Justin and his family welcomed us so warmly and were very helpful with everything. We recommend 100%

Amazing, beautiful little piece of paradise! Humming birds everywhere. Amazing swimming spot right in the sun, free kayaks to use too!! Really relaxing. Helpful and kind family owners. Comfy beds, doesn’t feel like a dorm. A little out the way so be prepared with food if you like to cook. A small town with basics a 30 min walk away. They can cook for you but it was a bit expensive for us at 100Q for dinner. All in all a fantastic stay.

Great hostel ! if you look for abeautiful accommodation right by the lake and a more authenthic experience this is the place to be. Moya is just lovely, we could use the kayak as we liked on this very quiet and beautiful part of the lake. Apart from the fact that it's a long way from Flores, everything was perfect.

Moya was the most attentive, helpful, welcoming and friendly host you will ever meet. We so enjoyed our stay here. Her beautiful house is right on the lake with lots of little nooks and areas for hanging out. So peaceful and quiet. There are cool trinkets, sculptures and art. Some handmade by family members. There's even ancient Mayan relics recovered from the lake. Endless entertainment including pool, ping pong, kayaks, books, games.. THOROUGHLY enjoyed! Thank you Moya 🙏 Till we meet again.

The most amazing hostel we,ve ever stayed at! A beautiful lakeside retreat where our travel aches and fatigue seemed to melt away - the perfect place to rest and re cooperate! You might be concerned about getting here, but the owner, Moya, told us everything we needed to know in advance and also arranged our Tikal visit and onward transport to Belize for us. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the free paddle-boards and kayaks!

Had the best time staying with Moya in her lakeside paradise. So many places to sit and hang out. Games room with pool table and ping pong. Super quiet. Hummingbirds and monkeys around the property. 20minute walk to nearest shop. Moya was brilliant so welcoming and helpful. Could not recommend more for a relaxing few days/ even few weeks!

We had a lovely peaceful stay by the lake. Moya was a wonderful host & helped with tour to Tikal and onward travel. The property is gorgeous right on the lake. We knew it was remote when we booked and loved the peace and quiet. Just pick up groceries in Flores before getting to the Inn, as the nearest shop has limited selection and restaurant options are fairly limited.

If you’re looking to disconnect for a few days and truly rest, you’ve found the PERFECT place! It’s a little corner of paradise 🩷 The owner is absolutely lovely, and the village of San Pedro is only about a 10-minute walk away. It’s a charming little village with two small shops where you can buy some basic products. There are also buses that go to San Andrés, a nearby village with a few restaurants and shops. Plus, two restaurants deliver directly to the hostel, which is super con...
