Evething very crean. Quit
Was in Florida for a week on a spontaneous trip, decided to go down to Key West and book a stay at a hostel more for the social aspect than anything else. This place was NOT that. What is supposed to be the common space, the pool area, was completely ripped up, under construction, and unusable, which was NOT mentioned on the hostelworld site btw. The beds have privacy curtains which was about the only thing that made this lack of common space tolerable. Also massively overpriced at $115 conside...
Das Hostel wird bald geschlossen, es gab schon keine Küche mehr.
While I was staying here, a horde of police came at around 3am and beat and dragged out one of the guests in the other women’s room next to me and threatened to “bash [her] skull in.” I talked to the owner the next morning, who would not give me a refund and claimed to not understand what that meant. The property is cheap as well, the beds are essentially made of Home Depot plywood.
I had a good stay! The beds are comfortable and the restrooms are clean. Unfortunately they don’t have a kitchen and the atmosphere is very calm and quiet. The staff was very nice, when I wanted to checkout I accidentally forget to leave the key but he was very understanding when I brought it back after my tour, thank you!!
Good stay
Basic done well - everything you’d look for in a hostel. Somewhat well located - about a 30 min walk to the action on the other side of town. Lockers are pretty small but the hostel has bed curtains and good facilities which is a bonus. Nice people who stayed.
As far as hostels go, this one is decent. Good location, rooms are clean, and I felt safe. There is little privacy in the beds with the curtains only covering 2/3 of the exposed sides. There was also no lockable space in the rooms. But I did notice 1 set of lockers in the courtyard that seemed up for grabs. Beds are comfortable and sheets and pillow are provided. I definitely had to bring my own pillow as folding the provided one in half still didn't cut it for me, but personal preference.
Great! Thanks for charging my phone!
Gut gelegen und für eine Überachtung vollkommen ausreichend . Jederzeit wieder 👍👍👍😊
good clean hostel but far too expensive. $100+ for a dorm bed??
Onwaarschijnlijk.
Seashell Motel and Hostel was definitely the most affordable lodgings my partner and I cold find on Key West. It's in an amazing location. There's a great courtyard to hang out in. Everyone was very nice and it has a quiet atmosphere, so there were no concerns about people keeping us up at night. You can cook on a BBQ, as there is no stove. It wasn't the most well stocked kitchen. Renting bikes from the hostel for the whole time we were in Key West was a great decision, as it's very bikable.
I paid way too much money for my stay here, even though it was Key West. Unfortunately, I had booked though Hostelworld a couple of months ago, and the price was high, and I wanted to make sure I got a place. By the time I arrived, the price was half. The beds were uncomfortable. The kitchen was poorly equipped, with no proper utencils or glasses. The microwave didn't work (a new one wasn't procured until the night before I left). The staff were nice enough, but the place itself is mediocre.
Had an amazing time staying at the seashell hostel and key west. Realy loved the vibe of the island. Everything fun to do is close by and accessible by foot. Also a lovely public beach called southernmost beach walkable by only 5 min (wich I visited every day). The hostel it self has a cute patio and a small kitchen with grill and everything else you would need for a short stay. Ooh and in the morning there is coffee available wich I was surprised about. Would recommend this hostel x Sam
Very welcoming staff and cute little place! Rooms are pretty dark and small but clean none the less! Not much of a social atmosphere, there is a outside common area but nothing going on. Expensive but so is everywhere is key west. great for a quiet few days and you are able to rent bikes from the hostel which is handy. would stay here again but wouldn't recommend for travellers looking to meet people!
I waspretty disappointed by this hostel, especially for the price I paid ! 2 rooms where connected by a tiny corridor with one share bathroom. There was no door in-between so anytime someone from one of the two rooms had to use it, it would be pretty loud. Also, there was what I guess used to be a window right by my bed.. now its more like a piece of wood loosely placed there, so I would hear the noice from the street a lot.
We stayed at the Seashell Hostel for two nights in a private bedroom. The quality price ratio is really good for the location, and the room was very clean and cozy. The outdoor kitchen has a barbecue, which was nice. We would recommend this place to every traveler.
It worked out, and saved me hundreds of dollar in an expensive location. One complaint: the website said that lockers were available to lock my belongings, but it did NOT explain or emphasize that you had to provide your own padlock. Upon arrival, I found that out, and that the Seashell did not rent or sell locks. The clerk said a shop three blocks down had them for sale, but the shop he referred me to referred me to a second shop, which sent me to a third shop, none of which carried locks. Bad!
Hosts were wonderful and very helpful. Beds and linens were comfy and very clean. Bathroom and shower was spotless. Great location and a terrific deal.
