Wombat's City Hostel London

Lovely hostel albeit a bit overpriced. The mattress was a bit hard and rubbery but the fan above the bed was very much necessary as the room was very hot. The location is fine, about a 10-15 minute walk from the nearest bus or metro station but still quite central.

Cold air was being fanned into my capsule. Air too cold for sleeping . Not fresh air either. Musty, like there was mould in the ventilation system. Unhealthy. No one on site at night to look after the place or guests. A phone number (which I never saw) above the self- checkin is their substitute for security. I had difficulty checking in. I booked an immediate flight home despite having paid for two weeks and staying only hours. I asked for a refund. Fat chance with these cheap crooks.

Points for improvement: Poor cleanliness, excessive cost. Leaving luggage after checkout is possible but at a high cost; in many facilities it's free. Security is excellent.

stayed 1 night out of the 3 I booked because the experiencewas unpleasant. Felt more like a military camp then hosting facility. The area felt unsafe for woman, the hostel is a high volume transition station. The room itself was very basic, uncomfortable beds, linen had to be put by you, very unplesent feeling of the naked matters and pillow/blanket. very loude road and railway just outside the building, couldn't sleep at all. If you are over 23 - find a more comfortable place.

Overall facilities were good, but some of the staff weren’t very friendly. I had made a reservation via email and the staff confirmed it via email. When I got there my reservation was not in the system and they said I was lucky to get a bed that night because there was one left. No apology even though I could show them the email of my confirmed reservation. So if they would have been fully booked I would have been out on the streets? Whoops they said

At reception in the morning staff seem to be racist kind and discriminating Asian

Facilities are amazing, rooms and beds are very clean.

uno dei migliori ostelli in cui io sia mai stata! pulitissimo, comodo per spostarsi (anche durante lo sciopero della metro!), sicuro, con un buon bar e prezzi ottimi, staff gentile e disponibile.. le uniche cose che cambierei sono i materassi e aggiungerei una ventola nel bagno (wc)!

Amazing stay! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, social hostel! Really close to Tower Bridge and tube station.

Front desk staff didn’t seem like they had a lot of knowledge to answer questions we had but the bar staff was 10/10 and the cafe staff. LOVE the womBAR (one of our favorites in the world) and love the accessibility to the rooms. Been here before and will definitely be back

Great place to stay in london. Very spacious and clean and liked that the dorms had curtains and lamps on the beds, and provided safe and locker. Felt very secure, large common areas. Location is great - easy walk to public transit and touristic areas.

My husband and I are senior travelers and in our younger years hostels were always the least expensive but also the most fun way to stay. Wombat London has an unbeatable location, just steps away from the hustle of the Tower Hill but also the tranquility of Wadding down by the river. We had a private room and it was so clean and comfortable. The kitchen area was fun with the communal table; ended up w some good conversations with fellow travelers. Wifi was terrible though….

Really friendly staff and clean room! The cafe had good coffee and the bar downstairs was cool.

Dorm, kitchen and common areas were all very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dorm was lacking hand paper/towel for drying hands, which was bit challenging. Showers didn't have any level to put your things other than floor. Upper beds were bit difficult to climb up to, but bed was confortable and there was spot for charger. Travellers were also very nice and events fun!

Nice lodging with great bar ambience, modern, bright kitchen and helpful staff. Good value. Would stay there again!
