very quiet place, really kind and helpful staff

Worst hostel. Dirty and expensive. When we arrived, we asked the front desk man if we could use rent towels as we didn’t have any. He said yes- and then we never saw anyone again at the front desk for the next four days. No towels were to be had. Showers are DISGUSTING, even wearing sandals the water doesn’t drain properly so I felt unsanitary. Location is at least 20 min walk from city centre and is in weird area. Bed is as hard as a rock. Room had ants which are now in my luggage.

Everything was ok

The staff were lovely and helpful when we needed assistance. The room we stayed in was relatively clean, however, the shared bathroom was very mouldy and dirty with hairs along the wall! The kitchen facilities did provide a lot of essentials and storage but the space to cook amongst others was too small. To be honest, I wouldn’t suggest staying here if you are looking for something short term as there are many long term guests which treat the hostel as their own.

The hostel has a lovely garden area, BUT unfortunately my stay was disappointing. The kitchens were very poorly maintained and dirty, the bathrooms were not clean, and the room itself wasn’t properly cleaned. On top of that, the staff didn’t feel welcoming or friendly. The place has potential, but it really needs better cleanliness and warmer services.

Good location within walking distance from the city center. The staff is very kind. The facilities are pleasant, although the showers are a bit dirty. The real problem is other guests who don’t respect anything and party/cook/make noise all night long. Since the walls are very thin, it was impossible to sleep for 4 days…

Por le mismo precio que pagas por estar una noche en este hostal, puedes conseguir otras opciones más cercanas a la explanada. Las habitaciones no tienen aire acondicionado y los colchones y almohadas son terribles e incómodos. Las zonas comunes se mantienen limpias y los baños están cuidados. Una cosa curiosa es que las habitaciones tienen ducha.

The majority are long-stay ppl on working visas. I won’t recommend staying if you are a solo traveler. There is more than 1 Kitchen but bathrooms are tiny.

The Kitchen could be better equipped. Especially spoons and cutting boards were really rare.

Never contacted me, replied to my email, or answered the phone after I arrived. I had to stay at Giligans

Very good place . The hostel was so quiet and the team so lovely. I recommend this place if you need some calm and respect. The location was good also and the room dorm or double room is really good.

This hostel was my favourite in Cairns. Very cute accomodations, large rooms, many kitchens and bathrooms, nice commonspaces. The staff is really nice and the vibe is calm chill,warm and respectful. I met the most wonderful people there that made my stay wonderful. thank you so much !

Good hostel, close to city centrum.

Really lovely staff however dirty and damp accommodation. We had hair balls on our bedroom floor. Mould growing on the blinds, walls and ceiling. Showers are covered in mould and we saw a worm in the shower. When we let staff now they said they'd inform the housekeepers however we saw no change. As we were leaving we saw an ants nest in the corner of our room. I think this hostel has just got new owners so hopefully will be improving.

Tens of cockroaches crawled between and on the shared cutlery and plates etc, and all through out the kitchens and shared spaces. Was also met by cockroaches in the showers. Overall not a social hostel, somewhat of a sketchy vibe and people there. Cleanliness was a huge issue, private room was ok at best.

Ok place to stay. AC didn’t work and ceiling fan was very loud. Curtains weren’t long enough so lots of light early morning. Staff were helpful but not overly friendly. Reasonable price
