Casa Ventura

Stayed at Casa Ventura for carnival, it is a basic hostel but it felt safe, clean and had friendly staff. The area is also a very safe and friendly neighbourhood. The rooms were not too big with a lot beds but if this doesn’t bother you then this hostel is perfectly fine for staying in for carnival

Very nice place, helpful and friendly people, attentive to all my needs. They love pets and take care of cats rescued from the street.

Attention! I had originally booked for 5 nights, but had to change the booking later on to 3 nights. When I arrived there they told me that the money I already paid to Hostelworld cannot be taken into account and that I had to pay the full price. Also, I should not complain as 30€ is 'not much money'. Besides that, the Hostel is in very bad condition. The bathrooms are dirty, the beds nearly fall apart and they squeeze 6 people in a 10 m² room. Definitely the worst hostel I ever stayed at.

The property isn’t as it was listed on hostel world but I still had a good time. Was in Barranquilla for the carnival so didn’t spend much time in the hostel. Was messaged on WhatsApp and asked to go to different hostel to my booking due to system error, it was more like staying in someone’s spare room in their house, but the owner was very friendly and kind although couldn’t speak any English if we had questions. If needing a clean safe place to stay this is ok

SPECTACULAR ATMOSPHERE, great service, I met people from all over the world, excellent location, exclusive, safe and strategic for pre-carnival and carnival, excellent bed and mattress, beautiful decoration, good bathrooms

The place is simply beautiful, with French-style architecture and design, the facilities themselves are impeccable, the service is unbeatable, the area is super safe and quiet, however it is strategically located close to the party areas for the carnival, transportation is easy to take, the beds are of quality with light and energy.

Overpriced, overcrowded. Asked for them to do my laundry, got it back next day damp and with wet clothes smell where it was obvious they were in same bag being wet through the night

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was very quiet. The Hostal is located in a neighborhood so it’s quiet at night. Perfectly away from the loud restaurant and bar scene but close enough to take a taxi or even walk if you want. The bus station is not too far from the hostel which can take you to Santa Martha or Cartagena. No more than 35,000 pesos. Also there are two or three small markers within walking distance from the hostel. Transportation options: InDrive App, taxi or Uber.

The anfitriones Rodrigo is super kind and very caring. I felt like at home and he helped me a lot. Besides he cooked the best arepia ever!

The hostel is really nice, very comfortable, the mattresses are very comfortable, high quality, which is what you want to rest well, the organizing team is super friendly, pets are allowed, beautiful neighborhood, very original dual-use lockers, good air conditioning, The open kitchenette is very relaxing surrounded by beautiful vegetation. I will return without thinking about it

wow beautifull hostel in a beautifull neighborhood, i made many friends, good staff good and comforrable mattress and bed, good bathroom, nice area to relax and to do friendship, so ten points!

Very good and comfortable hostel with delicious mattresses. bed with lighting and independent power charger. Number of bathrooms sufficient and beautiful. very elegant facilities. incredible attention. Good work team. friendly roommates.

Good experience. But the room is very small. But the owner is very smart person.

I stayed here for carnaval and it was insanely cramped. I was assigned to a six person dorm which wasn’t even big enough to fit a double bed and wardrobe in. All three bunk beds were crushed together and one set of moveable stairs were used to get up to the top bunks. I had no space for my suitcase so had to leave it in the kitchen. However the atmosphere was great as everyone bonded over how crap the hostel conditions were. The staff were brilliant though and super nice. I think they just nee...

This was the worst hostel that I've stayed in in all my years of traveling. Paid $47 a night for an 8 need dorm bed, they allocated me a 6 need with no space for luggage, no Aircon and no windows. Doors to 2 toilets and 2 showers did not lock. Not close to the carnival. 15-20 minutes drive in taxi. No real kitchen. So noisy. Hardly slept the 4 nights that i was there. He charged the total stay without deducting the deposit. He did this with everyone

Hostal carro y sucio, ademas que la puerta del baño compartido no se podia cerrar. No me gusto mucho que el dueño queria hacernos pagar el deposito que ya hemos dejado en la plataforma Hostelworld... Cuidado a la llegada de pensar a deducir el deposito de la cuenta final sino se les van a hacer pagar ! Punto positivos : las personas encontradas alla eran muy cheveres, el lugar bien ubicado.

I really feel bad for leaving a bad review but I have to because it is literally the worst hostel I’ve ever experienced in 15y- and somehow also the most expensive. It is essentially like living in someone’s house with all their grandparents and uncles and elderly pets hanging around the hostel. The sheets stink and don’t stay on the bed. The family are lovely but the receptionist would walk through our room to get to his room at any random time and the family would just scream eachothers ...

Fui al hostal alto de los nogales durante el carnaval, he estado un desastre total: habitaciones pequeñitas, mucho ruido, cuarta de baño inconfortable... por un precio carísimo. El proprietario intenté hacernos pagar mas caro si tener en cuenta lo que habiamos pagado en el sitio
