Lagarto na Banana

Excellent and unique hostel, with community placed at the very heart of everything that happens there. It’s all about the communal meals and social activities. If you’re looking for somewhere to find friends and vibes, this is the place. If I had to say anything negative it’s that the location is far from anything else in town, and the facilities are in need of an upgrade. Things could be cleaner too. Overall though, I loved Lagarto and have a lot of love for the people there!

J’ai trouvé que l’atmosphère se voulait welcoming avec les activités (19h-21h) et le petit dej mais au final pas tellement, il ne se passe pas grand chose. Les gens ont l’air d’habité dans l’hostel et sont déjà un groupe - peut être je suis tombé au mauvais moment. Le lieu et les chambres sont sales - les draps propres puaient l’humidité (on était plusieurs à le dire) les lumières extérieurs donnent une vibe assez froide - le lieux mériterait un rafraîchissement exté...

Lagarto is not just a hostel it’s a whole experience. You feel like home and they offer a lot of activities. The dinner and breakfast are really excellent. I made beautiful connections here and would come back at any time

Came back for a second time because my first stay was so magical. I was a bit scared it wouldn’t live up to my expectations, but it actually exceeded them.This hostel really has something for everyone — whether you want to party, chill, do yoga, or meditate. Averages out at 5.7 but 6.5 is my accurate opinion. Just a really weird vibe here. People don’t seem to..leave? I’d go for beach/surf days but it appeared people just sat in the hostel all day? I guess it attracts that type of traveller which is ok but be aware of this if you’re someone who likes to really explore and experience the town you’re visiting like I do. A little bit culty feeling of a place hahah. I’m sure this is great if you vibe well with just hanging around a hostel! Ver...

A nice hostel with daily activities and a social atmosphere. The staff were lovely. Dorms were small but fine and remember bug spray because the mosquitoes are no joke.

It’s a hippy vibe, very social and has activities and family dinner every night. It’s just a bit far away from the beach

I came to Lagarto by recommendation not knowing where I was getting and it ended up one of my best experiences in a hostel. The people in this hostel will fill you with great energy and make sure you have an amazing time!

I had an amazing stay here. The energy from both the guests and the staff is fantastic, making it very easy to meet people. They organize daily activities like yoga, dance lessons, and day trips, which really helped everyone integrate. Most of us ended up hanging out as a large group for beach days and nights out, which made the trip much more memorable. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the breakfast was a highlight every morning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a community feel!

if you're looking for a great community vibe - this is the one

Step into a lovingly designed hostel surrounded by nature: floor paintings, chill areas, a pool, table tennis and a jungle gym create instant festival vibes and a feeling of home. Breakfast and dinner are incredible, like sharing long meals with friends. Hostel dog Broncinio, yoga, music and daily activities bring everyone together. Tip: bring mosquito repellent for the forest setting. A true gem I’ll return for sure! This place stays with you long after leaving and truly feels special.

Absolutely excellent hostel, probably the best I've been to in South America. Great food, amazing staff, loads of places to chill out and activities to do, and the atmosphere is brilliant. The only drawback is you'll end up cancelling plans to stay longer!
