I extended my stay twice, that’s how much I loved this place. Think of your hippy brothers house, feels like home. The staff is amazing (Kevin I love you!) and the owner is always in with a ton of knowledge on Sámara and advice about Costa Rica. I’m gonna be honest, this place is very indoor/outdoor which I love but that means it also houses bugs. I slept with a mosquito tent and felt just fine, but know there are ants. If you’re down for some bugs, a lot of love and feeling like home, ca...
A great hostel. Small but cosy and very chill. Friendly staff. Laundry service available. My private room was clean and the ceiling fan was powerful enough to keep me cool which was great. There is one parking space at the front and more on the road just outside. The only negative was my bathroom had not been cleaned when I checked in but they sorted this on the spot when I raised the issue. Just note it is a 10 minute walk to Samara centre and Playa Samara if you don’t have a car
I normally only review very bad or very good places. This one is the latter. Amazing people, perfect location inside the jungle but at the same close to the beach and the city. I've extended my stay and would've loved to stay longer. I'll be back Casa Terra!
possibly my best hostel stay ever... the hostel is run by very cool people (shoutout to cedric and andre), very sympathetic and a very nice house. would definitely come again.
Such an amazing, heartfelt, peaceful space with beautiful people - guests as well as volunteers and owners! If I can I will definitely come back and bring some more Songs with me ❤️ Thanks for the magical experience ✨
Laidback, homey hostel with tons of wildlife to view. Parking right in front and a good location near beaches, soda, and shops. Private room was perfect with hot shower, mini fridge, clean atmosphere and we absolutely loved the staff. So friendly and helpful! Also have a cute little corner to donate/swap clothes + appreciated the events around the area written on kitchen wall. Power did go out a few times for a short time and no AC if that matters to you but didn’t really affect us for long.
Great hostel! Very small and a lot of volunteers which were all super sweet. Chill vibes. A little far from the city but easy with the bike.
The staff was wonderful. Very nice place.
Feels like home after a few nights. Everyone is super laid back and the atmosphere is really personal. Bathrooms were big and clean. Loved everything about my stay.
My time there was a dream! It can be dangerous because you always want to extend it Haha. (I does it 2 times) The only thing what i can say is ,,thank you Andre, Louis and this amazing volunteer team to create a home for travelers!
This is the best hostel ever. You are so warmly welcomed and you feel directly at ease. It's much more than a hostel, this a home.I wish i could have stay longer. Thank you for everything !
Very very nice place with a great atmosphere ! As it's literally a house, it really feels like sharing a home with friend so I had a great time :) All the staff is amazing and the location is what I like, a bit outside the center so peaceful but still close enough to every amenities. The only improvement point I can say is the cleaning of the rooms, all the house was always clean such as the floor and beds but the wardrob and bed structure was full of dust and spider web. But exept that is a 10.
For me Casa Terra was a home away from home! Great team, amazing vibe and animals right in the front yard :) I would absolutely come back and can only recommend this hostel.
Overall I liked it, but the many 10 star reviews are a bit missleading. First of all, if you are gonna go with bug nets in the window, why not fix the big holes in them? We had bugs in the room every morning... Kitchen utensils could use an upgrade. But with that said, I still enjoyed my stay! The staff was lovely and gave great recommendations on less known places to visit. The walk to town (10-15 min) was not too bad. There is a small grocery store 1 min walk away, and sodas that do delivery
Incredible place! Feels like home away from home and such lovely people. I would highly recommend it
I had an amazing time at Casa Terra! It is a small hostel so it has a family feeling and there is wildlife (howler monkeys) right in your backyard! It is also a 10 min walk to the beach and there is a delicious Soda and grocery store right next door. Would recommend for anyone staying in Samara!
We extended our stay at Casa Terra twice, which I think tells you all you need to know! From the incredible wildlife all around (think monkeys in the front yard tree), to the hosts' genuine and kind natures, Casa Terra was incredible. If you're in Sámara, please stay at this Costa Rican owned hostel!
Ok guys. I used to work in 5* hotels and frankly what Luis and the rest of the team created is worth 5* service. As soon as you arrive you feel welcome like no other places. Luis is coming from Swiss Hospitality and you can feel it. If you want a real local experience in a nice little house close to the beach, don’t hesitate. I went to some fancy backpackers places like somos or selina but they didn’t have the sense of service Casa Terra had. My best experience in Costa Rica by far. Thanks a...
