goSTOPS Amritsar, Golden Temple

I’m a long-term traveler sharing a real warning. I booked 2 dorm nights, then upgraded to a private room for ~940 INR per night and paid. Access required an app with no key; staff refused to give a code, so I needed help each time. The room was clean, but the shower was broken. Next day, they claimed the price was a mistake and demanded more money. I refused. The “refund” was minimal. I left. Unprofessional handling—I wouldn’t stay again.

It was a wonderful stay. The hostel has the best location, the staff is really nice, there was a good atmosphere and nice people, really good value for money and very clean and nice rooms.

This hostel is ideally located and has a spacious common area on the roof that is quite enjoyable. It doesn’t have the traveler environment that hostels are loved for, nor a staff that contributes to the environment. Clean but lacking the personal touch that a hostel should have.

stayed here for 4 nights in a private room. it was clean, had hot showers, comfortable bed, and the staff were very helpful. its a short walk to golden temple, and is right next to many shops for snacks, water, street food ect. highly recommended

went here during off season so it was quite empty but it was close to the golden temple and other temples. the few travelers i met did end up sticking together and we all went sightseeing together. the staff is really helpful also and super laid back.

Ich hatte einen guten Aufenthalt. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfreich. Die Frau von der Rezeption ist super. Sie half mir einen Trip zur Grenze nach Parkistan zu organisieren. Der wurde allerdings abgesagt, da zwei weitere Mitreisende krank wurden. Sie hat mir dann empfohlen zum Goldenen Tempel zu gehen und da einen zu Buchen, da es dann wesentlich günstiger sein würde, als ihn alleine mit dem Hostel zu machen. Die Zimmer waren für ein Hostel in Indien wirklich gut und sauber.

Kann ich wirklich empfehlen. Guter Service Rundum.

I was amazed by everything. staff very good . Hostel feels like home ,Very clean .

Staff was helpful, both in giving tips to save money and in giving directions. Plus they spoke English, which was nice, at least for me.

Great Hostel!! We arrived super early and couldn’t check in. However there was a shower and great rooftop area to relax, nap, plan the day until we could! The staff were very friendly, helpful and caring. We had a double room which was perfect, clean, comfortable and good shower! Would definitely return!!

I recently stayed at Gostops Amritsar and had a wonderful experience. The facilities were clean, comfortable and well-maintained, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I particularly appreciated the convenient location of the hostel, which allowed me to easily explore the city and its many attractions.However, I was a little disappointed with the café's food offerings.I found the taste to be lacking. Despite this, I still highly recommend Gostops Amritsar.

Altough the place is nice and the staff is friendly there are things going wrong all the time. WiFi is not working properly. You don't receive what you order. The staff makes promises they don't commit to.

The staff were very helping. The rooms were clean with good facilities. Very affordable stay and I felt it is very much worth the money.

Prachtig dakterras, maar 2 persoonskamer rook niet fris en alles zag er niet zo netjes uit. Ook lakens waren aan vervanging toe

The location is perfect, this is probably one of the few hostels in the city near to the Golden Temple, so it makes this hostel a good choice. Apart from that beds and washrooms are clean l, staff is helpful. What irked me is that the cafe is a bit expensive, the wifi has a limit!!! After that you have to pay!! I have stayed in many hostels but have never seen such stuff, big problem for people on workation.

Enjoyed my stay at gostops hostel in Amritsar. Staff was courteous and helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily. Location is very nice.Close to eateries and Golden Temple. Will definitely recommend.

Nice hostel on a quieter street of the city. Staff are all friendly with tips for your stay. There was next to no atmosphere when I was there, which is a shame because they have a large, comfortable roof top area which could be buzzing with the right crowd and attention. Rooms were all clean, but the toilets are definitely not cleaned properly.
