Don’t waste your time staying here. They put us in a different room to the one we had booked online as they didn’t have the correct one ready. Turns out it was a cheaper room without the ensuite we had paid for. Instead we had access to a disgusting shared bathroom covered in bugs and mould all over the walls. When we asked if we could be refunded the difference in price they refused. As there’s no food available nearby we ate in their restaurant. The food was expensive and terrible. Don...
It was awesome other than the huge walk to get there. The maps take you the complete wrong directions. Then when your on the right road it ends and you have to walk through the bush on the beach and hope your going the right direction. But the hostel is amazing. Great beach and the reef about 100 metres out is incredible. Food needs improving, beers are expensive, but the family that is running it are amazing.
I booked a 4 bed private room, was placed in a 2-bed private (cheaper room than the one I paid for - 4 bed had double bed, 2 bed had small twins). Internet/wi-fi didn't work, sheets were dirty, shower barely had any pressure, toilet seat was broken. Quality was lower than expected, but mostly irritated that I paid for a more expensive room than the one I was given.
I had a good time staying here. The location is great, although it’s a bit hard to find at first, once you arrive it’s really nice and right on the beach. I booked a Maxim and set “Sunlit Resort” as my drop-off point, then walked along the beach to reach the hostel. The hostel itself could use some improvements and better cleaning, but the staff are friendly and accommodating.
This place was absolutely fine and good value, however they really do have to be much clearer about how you get there. I had read the instructions and was completely prepared and accepting of the need to walk there along the beach to arrive but our tuk tuk dropped us off at dumuluan beach resort and we had to pay 200P to pass through it to access the beach (i.e. walk 30m). The confusion and lack of clarity (and shady dishonesty of the receptionist at DBR) really put a damper on the first day.
The place is budget friendly and cozy, but there's a little bit of an issue regarding the location, they don't have access to the main road, you need to walk 15mins by the beach in order to arrive at the location, if you're a light weight packer this place is good for you, but if you carry heavy luggages, going to this place may be a bit of challenge. but overall we enjoy our stay. Also the food is expensive in their resto, so we went to the neighboring resort to buy affordable foods.
Dangerous Road and they do not tell in advance. You Will have to work through a dusty Road and sand for 15 min with your luggage and they do not tell you in advanced. They dont know how to arranged a motorbike. AC makes crazy noise...
HORRIBLE DONT BOOK! We booked a private ensuite. The room was VERY dark and dirty. The bathroom was horrible, we had no water in the sink or the shower. We asked the staff to help us or move us to another room. They said they fixed the problem, but they didn’t. The room felt like a prison. 99% sure i Got bedbugs from them. you have to walk far in the Dark to get to the hostel. Only good thing is the Beach. We checked out after 2 nights although we had booked 3 nights but we couldn’t stay lon...
super emplacement au bord d'une plage de sable blanc. ma chambre (un dortoir de 4) était très bien et très propre. le resto est délicieux et l'équipe du bar est très accueillante que ce soit le gérant ou les serveurs
We had a stay of 3 nights with 3 guys in the hostel. Room 9 have enogh space, an insite bathroom and an refrigator. So it was a great value for the money. The place is awesome. Much more better as Alona Beach. The restaurant was'nt open anytime and only a less of meals are avaiable. But these were very good. South Palms nearby have a great restaurant. 10min walk down the beach. The dogs in the hostel are terrible. They ly un sunbeds chairs, beg for food ect. I don't stay again in case of the dog
