Daniel's Guesthouse

This is by far the worst hostel I have stayed in. We were greeted by the host who seemed to live in the living room (body odor was very strong). The guy was very unwelcoming and weird. The inside and outside of the hostel was unkempt and messy and the place looked like a rundown trailer house. When we arrived, the host immediately said the water stopped working so we couldnt use the shower. The sheets looked unwashed and was itchy. The bed was dusty and when you flashed light it had stains. 0/10

The stay was fine for one night, although an unusual set up and the room didn’t actually have a door (curtain) and the walls didn’t go all the way to the ceiling which meant that whilst we were trying to sleep, we could hear and smell people cooking. We didn’t use the kitchen as it didn’t look appealing and easy to use. Didn’t feel like a hostel.

I couldn’t have picked a better spot. I wanted a change from the big hostel feel and to meet locals and like minded solo travelers. Staying at Daniel’s is comfortable. It’s homey with a big well equipped kitchen. Laundry too. When I arrived in the center of Minca, the nightlife overwhelmed me. But only a few minutes of walking and I was at his peaceful place. A super cheap and friendly place to stay. As a solo traveller I felt really safe and enjoyed chatting to Daniel and the other guests in the evening. The vibes were good and kitchen well equipped to cook dinner.

It is correct on an absolutely basic level. There is only a cold shower, and on the mountain it is really cold. The location is favorable: it is not too far from the center, but you can't hear the noise of the center. It was sunny in the morning, and it rained in the afternoon. This accommodation can also be recommended to those who do not speak Spanish. Daniel speaks excellent English.

Generally okay place and like on the pictures. However, even though the dorm was empty when we arrived our pillows were full of other hair. What's more, the toilet was extremely dirty. No clue when it had been cleaned the last time. Living room was nice and like the pictures but a bit dusty and on some decoration were spider nets.

Nice location in Minca, off the main area of bars and restaurants so a nice quiet loacation. Accommodation is basic and perfect for a place to rest your head at night. Daniel is welcoming and happy to help you make the most of Minca.

Nice place to stay in Minca. Daniel the owner is so welcoming and had great tips for Minca. Location is good and down a quiet road so quite safe. Basic amenities but good for the remote location.

Daniel is very friendly and helpful. Great place to spend a few nights, just steps away from town. No need to climb any hills to get to your hostel. There is no wifi, but all the cafes in town have it so a good time to disconnect while you sleep.

Great place for a great price. Not your typical hostel but more like a home stay with Daniel hanging around :)

Daniel is very kind and it's great he speaks so good English ( quite rare in the hostels I've been in). We really appreciated having use of the kitchen and dining area. We appreciated having a room to ourselves with a bathroom. This was one of the cheapest hostels we found in Minca but felt that the beds were not particularly comfortable and my daughter wondered if the sheets had been cleaned between guests!? Over all ok for the price.

Had a nice and chill stay here. Daniel was super kind and helpful. There isn’t wifi but wasn’t a problem for us as we were out adventuring all day and had data. I highly recommend if you are looking to get away from hostel life for a bit and stay in a relaxing home environment!
