Staff totally not adequate to the role. Room quite dirty and uncomfortable bed. Air conditionated clearly not cleaned since months: ad we turned on it came out a lot of dust from the inside. Honestly I would not come back.

Clean room well-kept by housekeeping. Good hot water. Outside of room it feels more like a cheap hotel than a hostel. Little or no social atmosphere compared to most hostels. Staff is good but not interactively helpful as you often find in hostels. Wifi seemed ok on basic connection but would not support my vpn (not clear if this is a hostel issue). Good place if you just want a cheap, clean hotel in a good location.

Cheap and functional - it did the job. Can't really complain given the price. Room smelt slightly of smoke and wasn't the cleanest.

Location on the app brings you to a police station. Took me 2 tries to find the place, not what you want after a long flight and trip from the airport. Not very close to a metro station, 15 min walk to Jing An and Nanjing Road. Staff was always there, not always helpful though. Almost paid 1000 Yuan more than I was supposed to, still got overcharged by 500. Managed to get the cash back, they didn’t consider the payment I’ve already done on the website. So best that in mind. This place was fine. Not a particularly helpful staff, no backpacking vibe at all, and the location was meh. I also really need to fault them on their address being totally different from what was listed here…tbh that’s something the website needs to confirm because for solo travelers coming in late at night and having to wander around to find the place is really unsafe. Basically just a place to rest your head.

More of a hotel than a hostel vibe.. Super modern and clean, would definitely recommend it!! Only downside is that the metro is a bit far away..

quite expensive for what you got vs rest of China hostels we stayed in. Not very social hostel, good location but quite far from a metro. generally clean and staff were helpful, rooms were quite cramped.

WRONG LOCATION listed on Apple Maps for this location if you click ‘open in Apple Maps’ directly from the website. I went to the listed location and it was in an area about 600 metres away. I spent about 30 minutes trying to find it and phoned the staff who told me she’d ring me back to help. She never did. I eventually found the location by manually typing it out. I complained to the receptionist who didn’t care and didn’t address the issue. Checkout time is enforced. I got a call 10 ...

If you are looking for a cheap stay this might be a good choice for you. However, be aware that the rooms dont look like the pictures and are very small. I dont think we would stay here again but if I was a poor college student I would for sure.

The hostel overall was good. The location is fantastic, the price very reasonable for Shanghai, and no bother from staff during the trip. I would say that the majority of the people staying in this hostel are migrant workers, so there really is no atmosphere to speak of in this hostel. Not sure if this is due to China's zero-covid policy and lack of tourism.

Meego Youth Hotel is good value for money. It's secure, clean and not far from West Nanjing Road. There's an Aldi more or less across the road. A big thank you to Amy for taking the trouble to arrange a Didi. Even came outside with me to speak to the driver. Brilliant.
