Fun Getaway -- especially from Penzance, St Ives madness. Countryside and weather. No traffic, other noise Glamping w/ o glamour. Rudimentary mat like Hostel mattress. Excellent kitchen. All spotless. Great for budget travelers. Dependable buses to villages/ towns/ food groceries.
My private room was clean and consisted of two single beds on wooden frames. The plastic-covered mattresses are comfy. I brought extra duvet/mattress covers, camping table and chair. There is a frame to hang your clothes but nothing else. There are no window coverings and even cheap roller blinds would have made a difference. A mirror on the wall would have been useful. There is a well equipped kitchen and dining room. The 4G (no WiFi) was very intermittent so tricky to source info sometimes.
not homely, more functional. Unloving atmosphere. but we were also alone. With a lot of people and good exchange it certainly looks different. Strategically located perfect for excursions.
I enjoyed my stay at the farm. I had all I needed there. Very quiet place. Friendly and helpful owner. Rooms are clean, don't forget: it's a hostel. Short driving distance from Penzance and ST Ives where you can buy all the supplies. Be aware that road which leads there is very narrow so turn into it closer to ST Ives, the one closer to Penzance is so narrow that you can barely fit a small car. Don't forget to get your own bedding with duvet and pillows.
5* all round - perfect place to stay in st ives! Great location, beautiful area, facilities spot on! Thank you!
Good value for money - would be better if blinds or curtains were added to the private room. Would also recommend buying bottled water as the water from taps had a strange taste.
I've stayed in many hostels around the world & we chose this place on the high scores given. I can honestly say this was the most disappointing place we've stayed. The private "double" room consisted of two single beds pushed together which left a significant gap down the middle. Mattresses covered in protective plastic weren't very clean. Our room had a small, insufficient, radiator & there were no curtains, or even space to do makeshift curtains, to cover the single pane windows. It was col...
We had an amazing stay, we only stayed for 2 nights which was perfect. Very basic therefore if this is what you are after it’s great!
I found the hostel provided all we needed. It was clean. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen provided everything we needed. Our host made a fire most nights and kept us well entertained.
It was so lovely to be able to stay in this amazing hostel surrounded with beautiful views, especially as it was so accommodating.
Basic and bland but very clean, and decent facilities. Bring your own bedding for a comfy nights sleep . Location is gorgeous.
We had a pleasant stay. Russel (the owner) is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Hostel is located in a quiet area but is a short car ride to St Ives.
