+ Helga and Romulo were absolutely delightful. Gave us a warm welcome and lots of local tips . Romulo is also a guide with many years of experience, very knowledgeable in Andean culture . Their garden is quite pretty and full of pottery ( he gave us and introduction in their names and uses ) . The doggies are super sweet . And the location is amazing being so close to preserved Inca trail and many huacas.
+ Los anfitriones super amables y predispuestos. El desayuno súper completo y abundante. Buen lugar si querés hacer valle norte. Las habitaciones amplias y cómodas
I had an incredible time at KOSKO! The location is simply beautiful. It’s a 60 second walk from the templo de luna and there’s lots of beautiful mountains, nature trails and wild horses. Rómulu and Helga were incredible hosts. They went above and beyond in every way. They let me keep all my stuff in my room when I went on the Salkantay trek, made a delicious breakfast every morning and would give me a hot water bottle each night before bed. It’s a beautiful garden with two beautiful dogs ...
- NIX!
+ Many places have we stayed and never have we felt more at home. Two nights turned into nine. Amazing hospitality from Helga & Romolo. And of course Sophie & Lupo, their loving pups. A tip to who makes the wise decision to stay at Kosko: walking into town is a joy. About 25 minutes downhill to Plaza de Armas, first through the national park on and old Incan trail, then through the amazing San Blas neighborhood. Because it’s uphill, and usually we were tired coming back at night, we taxied home. 20 soles. Uber will calculate wrong and the drivers will cancel your ride because the fare Uber calculates is too low, which is true. Don’t be surprised if an Uber driver asks for more. It’s how it works. While getting to and from downtown is a bit more of a quest from Kosko, it’s location wins big when you’re heading north of Cusco to daytrip to the many towns & Incan sites in the Sacred Valley. It’s a 5 minute walk from Kosko across the national park to the road north where you can easily pick up a very affordable white combi van to wherever you want to go. And the same coming home. 5 soles to Pisac for example. Don’t let the outside of downtown location steer you away. It’s a strength of Kosko’s! Now I have to figure out how to live without a hot water bottle in my bed every night.
- Nada
Pro: Location is far from the city center, but so good for relaxation and if you need some quiet space. The staff and owners are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good. Con: have to pay additional 6% charge if you were to pay by card. Tour recommendations are more expensive than the one in the city Center overall.
Romolo and Helga were extremely kind, gracious, informative, and caring hosts. They really made this hostel feel like a home and the rooms were SO cute, clean, and spacious. Comfiest bed I’ve stayed in during my travels. The hostel is located in a quiet location with easy access to an old Inca trail that goes directly down into san Blas neighborhood and there’s a bus stop 5 minutes walking that will take you to the sacred valley pueblos for 5 soles. Breakfasts & pets were the cherry on top!
+ Great food, very accommodating hosts, and a beautiful location. It felt like a home away from home.
- The hot water was a bit faulty where it would be burning hot and then freezing, but other than that it was great!

+ The absolute best thing about this hotel is the hosts. Romulo and Gelga are sensational. They are willing to help, offer advice and basically be an abroad family for you. They are great. The rooms were spacious and clean. Also love the hotel dogs (Sophie and Lupo). They’re always friendly and love pats.
- This is either a positive or a negative. But you are a bit out of the Centro Historico here. It’s a good 20-40 minute walk both ways. But that also means it is super peaceful and quiet here (your close by qenqo and Sacsayhuaman here).
I don't even know where to start because everything about staying at KOSKO was so amazing. The owners, Helga and Romulo, truly treated everyone staying there like they were their own children. KOSKO feels like a home rather than a temporary place to stay for that reason. I unfortunately could only stay for a couple of days but in those days, I witnessed Romulo take care of and constantly check in on a guest who was sick during her stay like she was his daughter. On top of that, he made me and my...

This is more than just a hotel, it's a place of healing. The owners have found the exact balance with being caring and nurturing but also respect your space. Helga, a true symbol of mother earth, providing grounding energy and amazing breakfast smoothies. Romalu, a true symbol of the sun, providing wisdom, protection and energy! The hotel is beautiful, the dogs are beautiful and the area is beautiful! I couldn't recommend this place enough, especially if you're looking for somewhere quiet.
+ Herzlichkeit der Gastgebern. Die zwei Hunde Lupo und Sophie.
- Nichts.
Had the most welcoming & authentic stay here!! Romaro & Helga really take care of their guests, it felt like having my parents there. The place is so cute and cosy and even had waterbottles for the cold nights 💕 They organised sacred valley & city tours for me which were amazing! My only issue was with the location being a bit inconvenient- I would recommend using their service over uber as my driver unfortunately got lost - but thankfully Romaro saved me in this case and picked me up 🙏
+ Rómulo and Helga were fantastic hosts: so warm, welcoming, and going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We ended up extending our stay here because we didn’t want to leave! Our room was awesome, nicely decorated, good natural light, with hot water bottles delivered each night to make our beds even cozier. Breakfast was avocado, toast and jam, and 2 eggs sunny side up. There was tea and hot water available all the times in the kitchen. Helga loves plants and the garden area right outside the kitchen was very beautiful and with lots of birds! My favorite thing about this place, besides the hosts, is that you can walk out the door and be in a lovely natural park-like setting where you can walk to many nearby archeological sites. Rómulo showed us around Temple of the Moon and gave us a very spirited tour, which was a highlight. It’s a really fun walk into town on the Inca Trail and down a pedestrian stairway lined with restaurants— even though it’s “far” from the city center, it’s actually a very nice walk to get into town, along peaceful paths with no cars! On the day we left, Rómulo drove us into town, along with 2 groups of other guests, and helped us exchange money, get an oil change, find the right entrance to a museum, etc. He took care of all of us and helped us along our way. Incredible hosting!
+ Lovely family run B&B on the hill above the Centro historico area and across the street from the Saksaywaman national park - Romulo and Helga are simply wonderful hosts who make every effort to take care of their guests, like providing a hot water bottle at night. Room was very clean and comfortable and a great breakfast was provided. It's great value for money given you can walk downhill via a historic Inca trail directly into the Plaza and get a cheap Uber or taxi back. We much preferred this location than the centre of Cusco which is very busy and expensive.
