Pretty nice place, a bit of a walk from town but maybe cheaper than the other options. If you’re on a tight budget, not a bad choice.

Nice place to stay, enjoyed the free breakfast. Slightly out of the main town centre but all tours pick you up from accommodation so no problems

Best value in Longyearbyen. We had a private room that was clean, quiet and secure. Bedding was a single thick comforter, a little too warm for me. There was a small sink in our room as well, nice touch. Common rooms were on the small side. Kitchen had all the usual stuff except microwave. Plenty of shared bathrooms, no waiting in line in the mornings. You can also buy local beer and decent wine onsite. About as far from downtown as one could be in Longyearbyen. 20-30 min walk to town.

My stay was perfectly adequate, but could’ve been enhanced significantly if the staff took more pride in their status as hosts. A welcoming smile, a bit of conversation, etc would be a huge boost to what is quite a stale atmosphere. Otherwise, a great hostel with super facilities.

Amazing hostel, great and always available staff. Served from all buses going to the different excursions/expeditions/airport. Definitely recommended!

Great hostel. Well serviced by the airport bus so it didn’t matter that it was a fair way out of town. Good breakfast

Overall very good! The girls at reception helped me a lot with scheduling tours of the place. Cleaning and services are also good. The only thing is that the location is bad, it's approximately 40m walking and it's a considerable climb to get to the hotel.

A fantastic hostel, had good rooms with tea, coffee and hot chocolate available at all hours. Showers were nice and warm with good water pressure. There was a little gift shop at reception which was also handy. Staff were great and very friendly. Was about a 20/25 min walk from town but we knew this in advance and it was a nice walk

I really like this hostel, it is the safest hostel I’ve ever stayed in and every person, both guests and staff, in the hostel is very friendly. Overall a very cozy little cabin outside of the town center, it takes approx 20-30 minutes of walking to the town center. I would highly recommend it.

I came in the dark season. Keep that in mind. Pros:- at the edge of town, very little light pollution, a few steps from the wilderness- nice people, good kitchen, full bathrooms, good common rooms with couches- great breakfastCons:- 30+min walk to town or grocery store. Would probably be nice when the weather is nice. Sucks when it's freezing and windy.- 4-bed dorms are very very small with little ventilation

Lovely hostel with great stuff. Very clean and cozy. The distance from the town center is a 30-30+ min walk but even that is such a unique experience. Hope to visit again soon!

I enjoyed my stay here, the staff were friendly and accomodating on check in. The dorms had a max of 4 beds and had great climate control and were comfortable. The lockers have no locks, so keep in mind. The bathroom facilities were plentiful and clean. The free breakfast was always welcome, as well as free tea and coffee all day. I went during the polar night, so a quiet atmosphere was expected. The hostel is about a 35 minute walk from the centre, so plan accordingly. The kitchen is small.

This the best (and only) hostel in Svalbard. If you can get over the looong, boring walk from the center, it’s worth staying here. The important stuff: no lockers in the room, each bed has an outlet and maybe a light (some didn’t work), and there’s a sink. Most of the bathrooms are in the hallways and are TINY and should have a mirror so more people can use those rather than wait for the few bathrooms that do. The kitchen is the heart of the hostel and the best place to socialize and cook ...
