The Hat Madrid

Sehr schönes Hostel, viele nette Meschen - Reisende und auch Mitarbeiter. Ich habe in einem Hochbett oben geschlafen, was mir persönlich nicht gut gefallen hat, da man eine sehr steile Leiter hoch musste, ohne gute Griffe und das Bett hat sehr gequietscht. In der Küche gibt es keinen Herd und keine Töpfe, nur Mikrowelle und Backofen, was ebenfalls ein Minuspunkt für mich war. Slept wonderfully in the dorm beds. In the details, such as the little shelves and hooks, generous pillows and storage holds, one can literally feel the thought that went into the design of every detail of these cozy single dorm bed units. Also, charming staff throughout, be it the cleaning crew, the breakfast ladies up or the helpful receptionists. Last but not least, generous breakfast and fantastic location.

Good: perfect location, right next to Plaza Mayor. The staff was very friendly, it’s great for solo travellers as it’s easy to socialise and the breakfast is really worth it! There’s also enough space to lock your luggage in the dorm and there are shelves at the bed. Not so good: being so central also means it can get quite loud at night (that’s obvious though), the walls are rather thin so you hear people next door and you can’t really sit up in the lower bed. Clean property in a great location! 4 person rooms are really small so be aware of that but nothing crazy. Staff were kind and helpful.

Best location you could wish for, great modern vibes hostel. The social events were not that clear and the staff were not super welcoming. Rooftop bar is nice but it’s open to the public so doesn’t feel as good for “hostel socialising” if you get me

Possibly the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. It was so clean, the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, they answered all the questions I had quickly and effectively. The activities were great, I did the sangria workshop with a couple of people in my room and it was a great way to socialise and meet new people. Located in the centre right next to plaza major made it super accessible to everything I needed. I could go on, but if you’re going to Madrid I couldn’t recommend The Hat...

I had the most amazing stay! The location was perfect I was able to walk to everything I wanted to visit. The bar crawl was super fun. Most of all, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful (especially Javier)!!

The location is very good, and the staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast is really worth it; for 7 euros you can eat as much as you want, and there's yogurt, fruit, bread, and always a vegetarian option. My bed was in a kind of mezzanine and not a bunk bed, which was great because there was plenty of space, but I missed having an individual safe in the bed like hostels usually have. The only negative point, in my opinion, is the bathroom; it would be better if the toilet was separate

Had a fabulous trip, The Hat’s hospitality was amazing. Facilities were gorgeous and always clean. Would definitely recommend.

Der Standort vom Hostel ist perfekt, man hat alles was man braucht in unmittelbarer Umgebung (Essensmöglichkeiten, Supermarkt gleich gegenüber, Metro nur ein paar Minuten entfernt, etc.) Das Personal ist ebenso sehr hilfsbereit wenn man Fragen hat

Muy buen hostal, la atención de los y las chicas de recepción muy buena y gentil en la mayoría de los trabajadores, excepto una o dos mujeres que cuando les hablaba parecía que me hacían un favor al hacerle alguna pregunta y ellas responder! De ahí el hostal ampliamente recomendado la ubicación inmejorable! Sin duda me vuelvo a hospedar ahí

Very good place to stay and make friends

Los huéspedes no respetan el descanso y gritan en los pasillos y hablan tan alto … una pena no limpien la habitación… Es primordial que se respeten los derechos del prójimo aunque estemos en un Hostel 😊

Love this hostel! The staff are the best - shoutout to Daniella and Alonso (hopefully spelling that correctly). It’s a very fun and social hostel, I made lots of friends in my room and on the bar crawl. The rooftop bar is lovely, as well!

Overall good hostel, would stay here again when I’m back in town.

Felt so comfortable the whole time. Dorms were so clean, amazing kitchen (although there is no real stove to cook with—only a microwave and small oven). In the perfect spot in the city. Would absolutely come back!

Too many parties and hence lots of noise late at night. Not a great experience.
