Two months here and honestly… I don’t even have the words 🥹. This hostel became my home away from home. I arrived knowing no one and I’m leaving with amazing memories and incredible people I’ll never forget. The vibe here is just different—always good energy, laughs, and spontaneous plans. It’s impossible to get bored. And the staff 💛 thank you for everything. Always kind, welcoming, and ready to help with anything. You really make this place special. Thank u for everything. I...
Nice hostel, a lot of long stays here so hard to integrate with people. Bit of a walk into the centre but this was fine for me. Rooms were basic, curtain didn’t close properly and there was only one toilet on my floor, otherwise had to go upstairs for toilet / shower, through the kitchen. Communal areas again full of people living there so didn’t always feel comfortable having a space to chill
Unfortunately this place is super dishonest, they charged me for multiple nights when I only booked one night. Would avoid at all costs. Also found bugs in the room.
Generally a good hostel, but sleep can be challenging depending on the room Pros: Location: 5-min walk to beach via shortcut Kitchen & Social Space: Large and vibrant Living Room: Great for relaxation Cleanliness: Generally well-maintained Extras: Free surfboards, lockers with deposit Cons: Bedding: Mattresses, pillows are worn out Airflow: Small windows limit ventilation; loud fans complicate sleep Restroom Cleaning: Occurs at 9:00 AM, inconvenient for guests Kitchenware: Pots, pans ...
Nice place, you can take surfboards to the beach (15 min walk away) with a $50 cash deposit, bedroom was a little hot at night but the kitchen was big, WiFi was good but only in certain parts of the hostel (no WiFi or service in my bedroom), movie room had plenty of space to hang out. Lots of long-term guests here. Laundry is $6 for wash, $6 for dry, $1 for soap
super hostel in nem bezauberndem ort
lot of groups(south american) & longstay people / not very clean (maybe because of the travellers...) kitchen & bedroom all right
Solides Hostel, bisschen stickige Zimmer, aber gute Lage
Curtains (lower bunk), outlets, and lights in bunk. About 30 minute walk to town central. Beds a bit tricky to climb to top bunk. Sink in room handy. Felt like 50/50 temporary vs permanent guests. Kitchen can get very busy so great way to socialize. Great experience as solo female traveler in a mixed dorm!
Brilliant ! I had the best Christmas Eve ever! The staff are so cool, it's really friendly. Large communal areas, large kitchen, well maintained. 10 minutes from the beach. You can hire surfboards. Very easy to meet people. I recommend it !!
Loved my time here. Alfie and the rest of the PCL team were very helpful and welcoming. Comfy mattresses. Free surfboard hire. Alfie even let a group of 8 of us borrow the hostel van for a day out. Good spacious kitchen. Good social. Life’s better at the Mount. I will be back one day.
Amazing hostel. Super social, super clean, staff were incredible. A/C in the rooms, curtains on the bunks and lockers under the bed. Also very comfortable mattresses. Would 100% stay here again.
The staff are great and the facilities are clean. Unfortunately, the rooms facing the street are very noisy and the whole hostel is very noisy. A double room for $162 with a shared bathroom is not worth the price :(
This hostel has the perfect balance of being social and welcoming to all its residents, while still allocating quieter areas of the building and quiet time after 10pm, even on weekend nights. As an early-to-bed person I appreciated this. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Decent facilities. My one area for improvement would be that my room smelled very strongly of body odour. Air purifier installations, even just portable ones, would be a great idea especially for the warm summer months
Great atmosphere and great people! All facilities and rooms were clean and felt very safe.
One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in New Zealand! Totally worth paying a little extra—you get clean dorms and bathrooms, a big kitchen, and a nice chill-out area. The staff are super helpful, especially when it comes to finding job offers. Would absolutely stay here again!
Nice hostel and the staff are super friendly. There are a lot of long term people so it’s not the most social hostel ever if you’re travelling.
There were bugs crawling around, and with the bed being actually on the floor the kept coming in. It was like a private pod which was nice. The bathrooms were old but fine usually.
Lovely private room in a decent location. Staff were really welcoming and friendly! Shame there was only 1 bathroom on our corridor and another small shower/toilet block upstairs- but still wasn’t enough considering how many guests they cater for. Although we did go at a busy time apparently- well equipped kitchen & laundry. Price was relatively high considering the lack of bathrooms, but would recommend a visit.
