Wadi Rum Backpacker Camp

!! Do NOT book here if you want to pay with card !! I booked this hostel out of the dozens of options on Hostelworld bc of the assurance that we could pay with card (as specified in the Hostelworld bio) but they only accepted cash. Everything else was fine (the tour was fun and our guide was amazing) but very disappointing/frustrating when you book a hostel for a specific facility & that facility isn't available. extra: half day jeep tour are 40jd; sunset camel ride 25jd

I spent two nights at the camp. Had an amazing time. The hospitality of Youssef and Faris was outstanding. Helpful staff, amazing food and comfortable rooms. Highly recommend

We had just an incredible stay at the camp. The staff is very welcoming, the dinner was always freshly prepared and included traditional Jordanian food (also veggy). We did a full day jeep tour through the desert with the guide called Fahat, it was the very best!! The tour was unique and adaptable to our wishes, Farat was so adorable. I can highly recommend!

We had the best time in Wadi Rum thanks to all of the staff in the camp, the hospitality was amazing. The diners made by Ahmed were incredible and we had an amazing jeep tour with Yassin, defenitky the best guide of all the desert! He deserves 11/10😍

This place was a good experience, the surroundings was beautiful. The bed was good to sleep in and the food was delicious. Thanks to Fahad for good driving skills in the desert :-)

The camp is perfect, nestled in the heart of Wadi Rum - the staff are friendly and kind, special mention to Abu Fares who was a great host, tending to our every need The camp does get very hot in August however this is clearly mentioned on the property description. All the food and tours they run are amazing, you are in for a treat if you book!

We had a brilliant stay in the camp, Wadi Rum is such an incredible place. Faris provides great hospitality to all the guests, the meals and facilities are excellent and we have to give a special mention to Farhad, our guide for the jeep tour, for giving us an amazing experience that we will never forget. Do not hesitate to book a stay here!

I had the pleasure of being the only guest at the camp one night and the staff were incredibly welcoming! They showed me around at night after the 4x4 tour during the day I had. Overall just incredibly wonderful and welcoming people!

Amazing place, great staff, kindness and adventure are the right words to define our whole experience at this place. As remark, the food was really tasty, and the camp fire under the stars were unforgettable. I hope visit this place again.

Extremely comfy beds with plenty of blankets. Dinner was nice but quite expensive as was the jeep tour. A spacious camp with friendly staff. We realised we weren’t actually taken to Mohammed Mutlak Camp we were taken to another one (probably a sister camp) which was fine but a little annoying as we were much further away from sunset point.

This camp is amazing, as much as Mohammed and his family! We felt like at home! We had an amazing jeep tour (I recommend to text them the day before to arrange the tour) a buffet breakfast in the morning and a very yummy dinner (we had to pay 10jod). After dinner we had shisha and tea around the fire. They also gave us extra blankets bc by night it gets very cold! Highly recommended!!

It wasn't the first time and it won't be the last time that I stay at this camp. The staff is so welcoming, Salem is a great host, and the food is amazing. The site of the camp is perfectly hidden behind dunes and sheltered by some rocks. You can enjoy the stunning sunset, embrace the tranquillity of the desert, drink tea and sit at the campfire. I can also highly recommend the camp as a single traveller. See you again :)

This stay is the best experience I have ever had. Salem and his staff are very kind, friendly, helpful, thoughtful and they treat everybody as a special guest. They took care of me from the great communication to the transportation and programme. The camp is very quiet, clean and well equipped. There are power outlets in every tent. Beds are very comfortable, with extra blankets. Showers are spacious, modern, with hot water. I enjoyed tasty breakfast, excellent dinner and delicious spiced tea.

I went as part of a tour. Absolutely amazing scenery, been nowhere like it ever. Did a sunrise camel ride, was enjoying the stay as ever. Would happy to come back again.

It was the first time I felt sad about leaving my accommodation (and I stayed at so many hostels!). This was because the staff was so welcoming that I didn't feel like I was in a hostel: I felt much more like I was staying by some friends. On top of that, the position of the camp is just perfect: behind a red sand dune, with an amazing view of the three main rocks in Wadi Rum (steep Jebel Khazal on the right, Jebel Qattar with it's pinnacles on the left, and Jebl umm ishreen in the center).

If I could give this camp more than 5 stars, I would. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. The rooms (tents) were fantastic and the food was spectacular. Loved the Location and Atmosphere. I, especially, enjoyed the view of the sunset. I am so happy and excited I lived the most wonderful moments in my life doing all the desert activitiesl The best stay ever. The environment was pleasant and welcoming . I will definitely recommend this camp to my friends and family.

WOW, what a great stay and what a surprising atmosphere! This camp one day/night experience will remain the best of them all in my Jordan journey. The Position, the kindness of Salem and his staff, the cleanness of tents and bathrooms, the wonderful traditional Bedouin meals... And the Desert Tour with such an expert and funny guide, highly recommended. Breathtaking Stargazing, Bedouin tea, shisha! Everything went simply perfect... GREAT!
