Mumma's Hostel

atmosphere was non existent unless you count creeps looking for a 2 man. The security if I could rate it a 0 I would have both the back and the front door to our room did not lock, you could go up the stairs and get into our room from the front of the hostel which means anyone off the street can walk in. The pool is hardly a pool I would compare it to a kiddie pool that looks like it’s been peed in, can’t fault the cleanliness they loved barging in to clean at 8am while everyone is sleeping

It was horrible. The kitchen was dirty, there’s no place to sit and eat. Everything was filthy, and the shared showers were extremely dirty. I complained, but nothing changed. The cleaning was barely done, it was just half-hearted. There were cotton swabs, hair clippings, plastic bottles on the floor, and it didn’t smell good at all

Dirty kitchen with flys and dirty bathrooms, with only 2 bathrooms for the whole hostel. The lock on my bedroom door didn’t lock properly so didn’t feel safe leaving anything in my room. Only good thing is the location and the staff were nice. I left a day early but still had to pay for my night, which I understand was told before hand

The managers were absolutely delightful people, some of the kindest, most welcoming, accommodating individuals we have met. There were few bathrooms so we found it better to shower in the afternoon/evening, mornings seemed like a waiting game. Showers weren’t particularly clean. Many long termers in their own cliques, seemed reluctant to socialise. Kitchen was a mess as many residents didn’t respect rules sadly. Poor customer service from the owner, you are threatened by fines and the facilities are poor. Reception hours are un realistic and after hours check in is poor, I had to stay elsewhere due to lack of communication but still charged for a nights stay.

Very disappointed with the breakfast, which was basically just bread with empty jars of spreads and jam. There was no juice, no milk, and no fruit like in other hostels. The facilities were also very dirty, and there were only two bathrooms to share with everyone.

Worth the price, not the best not the worst

This is an amazing place, it is true that the rooms are rather small however clean comfy and proper. The chillenian Receptionist was super friendly and helping I appreciated his advices

Gut zum schlafen aber mehr auch nicht

There was only 3 toilet/showers in the whole property, which was ridiculous. The facilities were disgusting, the door on the bathroom didn’t even lock and I had a friend get walked in on. The kitchen was full of flies, and the pool was full of mud and bugs it was gross. There was techno music blasting until 3am every weeknight through the weekend, making it not a great place to sleep if you want to get up early.

The beds and free breakfast were nice. It was mostly long termers and Spanish so hard to socialise. Kitchen was filled with flies which isn’t the nicest. Two bathrooms between 16 people so a lot of waiting or showering at odd times to avoid being queued up. I wouldn’t stay here again

Very nice staff and feels very safe. Free breakfast is a plus! Very good value for money. Definitely recommend staying here

Leider hatten wir auch das Zimmer, dass von vielen anderen hier schon beschrieben wurde, indem die ganze Zeit die Langzeitgäste durchlaufen und es als Flur nutzen. Tagsüber ist es mir relativ egal aber abends ist es enorm störend wenn man schlafen will und alle 10 minuten jemand durchläuft und zwei Türen zuschlagen. Es ist auch sehr laut im allgemeinen.

The dorms are filthy and cramped. The first-floor bathroom is constantly damp, smelly, and full of people’s hair. I was placed with three older men as a young woman, room smelled of nasty socks, no respect for space, loud at night, and one even stole my charger. People scream early in the morning, and the place reeks. The atmosphere is awful, mostly men who stare and never socialize and they all speak spanish. The outdoor area is dirty and neglected. Absolutely disgusting, never stay here.

Sound value for money. Saturday pizza is great. One toilet/bathroom for 10+ people meant people waiting for a while. Wifi did not work in room. Coffee and tea rarely refilled. Very little noise dampening, loud keypads and people talking could be heard.

20 min walk from surfers beach, kitchen clean & plenty of utensils/pans etc. room was tiny with little space to move around but had good storage. Room door did not actually lock, neither did the bathroom door. Curtains around bed, no reading light but there was an extension cord for plugs by the bed. Got bitten by bugs a few times in bed. Shower kept going cold, bathrooms mirror was way too low, couldn’t see past shoulders. Would return
